Contrast between the film Dante's Peak and Into theStorm

Since films came out, genres like disasters and adventure films arepopular. These genres are more likely popular towards the teen-adulthood,films such as Dante's Peak and Into the Storm. During the time when Dante'sPeak came out, films like Titanic, Jurassic Parks and Terminators managedtook the spotlight from Dante's Peak. In such, there is also Captain America:The Winter Soldier, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Guardian of theGalaxy compare with Into the Storm. Of all other films I chose Dante's Peakand Into the Storm is because of the natural disaster involved. These twofilms have different types of natural disaster, different actors acting for thecharacters and number of storyline.

First of all, the films each have different type of natural disasterhappening such as volcano eruption and tornado. In the film Dante's Peak,the type of natural disaster happening in it is that of a volcanic eruption.Inthe movie,the volcano erupts two time. First is that the volcano erupts,causing earthquakes to rock the town and turning the river acidic. Thesecond eruption is larger that comes in a pyroclastic flow which obliterateeverything in its path. However, as for Into the Storm it is a film withhailstorm appearing and mainly tornado afterward causing havoc to the town.In the film, there is a part where an explosion occurs turning the tornado intoa fire whirl which killed Jacob that tried to film it. Besides that, the filmhappen to have a convergence of tornadoes in result of a colossalEF5(Enhanced Fujita scale 5) tornado that threatens to level the town.

Next, both the films have different actors acting for the characters,people like Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Linda Hamilton andPierce Brosnan. In the film Dante's Peak, Pierce Brosnan act as the maincharacter of the story as Dr. Harry Dolton and Linda Hamilton as RachelWando. Dr. Harry Dolton acts as a volcanologist of the United StatesGeological Survey that studies about volcanic activity and Rachel Wando asthe Mayor of the town Dante's Peak. On the other hand, we have RichardArmitage as Mr. Gary Fuller and Sarah Wayne Callies as Allinson Stonefrom the film Into the Storm. They both played the leading role in this film.Mr. Gary Fuller acting as the Vice Principal of Silverton High School andAllinson Stone as the Meteorologist.

Furthermore, it is the number of storyline involving in these two films.The first film will be Dante's Peak. In the film Dante's Peak, the film have atotal of one storyline. Evidently, Volcanologist Dr. Harry Dolton and MayorRachel Wando managed to convinced the citizens of Dante's Peak toevacuate the town immediately from the near outburst of the volcano, onlyto discover that her two kids have driven up the mountain with the lorry toget their grandmother down. With Earth's clock racing against them, theyhave to rescue the kids and grandma before the volcano erupts in a fury offlame and ash a million times more powerful than an atomic bomb. However,the film Into the Storm have a total of two storyline. The first storyline isthat the Storm Chasers went to Silverton town in hopes of filming tornadoesafter not being able to film anything for a year long. The other storyline isthat of Gary Fuller asked of his two son to record messages from the seniorsfor a time capsule to be opened in 25 years, only to find the sudden sour ofthe weather during the commencement ceremonies which lead to a tornadostriking the school. Later on, Gary Fuller found out that his eldest son,Donnie Fuller is trapped at an abandoned paper mill together with KaitlynJohnston which he have to rescue.

Thus, the films Dante's Peak and Into the Storm have their differenceseven tho they both have the same genres. In such, different type of naturaldisaster happening, the actors acting for the characters and the number ofstoryline being hold in the films. Not just that they have differences but alsosome similarity such as the main characters from both films have the love ofprotecting their own family when disaster strikes which also makes it a filmwhere everyone would love to watch with moral values.
