Well my brothers most the month of March went well. What was not finished in March will be complete in April. I wanted to say great job to those brothers who made the track chair shoot a Success, My Hat goes off to you. Due to this Virus keep all of our brothers and their family in our prayers. My Brothers, as you know, I have been concerned about living up to the “beauty” assigned to my station. I wrote to “Dear Abby” for help. I found out that Abby has died quite a few years ago, and her nephew Bob has taken her place. He told me that “today, all you have to do is identify as beautiful, and people must accept you as such.” This my brothers, is great news. If this works as good as he says, I will also identify as 50 pounds lighter. The possibilities are endless. These millennials are a lot smarter than we think. I am going to let you all in on a little secret. If all goes as planned, I am going to identify as a Grand Master next year! I must admit that my first attempt at identifying as “boss of the house” did not go as planned. I suppose it could have gone worse, however, the laughter still kinda hurt.

I hope to see more of you at our chicken BBQ's. Along with the yard bird, you will receive our county famous beans, and hand scooped potato salad. Each bean is hand selected and must pass a 32-point examination before it is allowed to be served in my kitchen. The potatoes where grown in the best dirt that Utah offers. You can then wash it down with the coldest, and most delicious iced tea you will find in ANY Englewood Lodge, guaranteed.

Remember to have the wives read the menu section of the TB so that they are assured as to your strict adherence to their dietary restrictions. You know better. As I promised last month, here are the 7 things you can blame your weight gain on. 1. You changed your medication, and the doctor said a little weight gain is normal. 2. Allergic reaction to Brussels sprouts.

3. Sympathy weight gain. You noticed that she put on a few pounds, and you didn't want her to feel bad. I tried this, and as a bonus I had a very quiet house for two weeks. 4. Bee sting. 5. Water retention. We know it's cheesecake retention. 6. Blame your wife. You are obviously eating right at Lodge, so it must be her. And number 7. You are making fewer trips to the bathroom to conserve toilet paper.

Please remember in these questionable times, that you have brothers you can call on, and confide in. The world has gone a little crazy, and its the older, less mobile citizens that suffer the most. If you are in need offood, toilet paper, or perhaps a comforting word, reach out to us. Help will be on the way. There is no reason a brother should go without in this, or any Lodge. Do not hesitate or feel shame in asking. You are all worthy. God bless.

From the West My Brothers,

Well March was a busy one with the St. Paddy’s day Supper and our gun Shoot! I hope everyone took the necessary precaution during this time of COVID-19 without overreacting. Just like everything else this will pass. Even know we did not have our second meeting last month we are all still Masons and we should ever walk and act as such during these trying times!

I would like to put together another function later on where we all get together; this includes our wives and families. Who is up for a bowling night or Golf Day? At our first meeting we will talk a little more about this and see what everyone would like to do, if you have any suggestions., please let me know! As Brothers we should strive to do more activities outside the four walls of our Lodge.

Our EA give back and Fellowcraft degree had to be postponed to this month so watch for new dates on these events. We will send out emails if you are not at our first meeting.

I have been trying to keep the Lodge Facebook page up to date, so if you are on FB please watch our page for upcoming events and changes in lodge schedules. I will post everything we are doing within our Lodge and other Masonic events that I am made aware of!

Please continue to take the necessary precautions during this trying time keeping you and your family safe. If any brother needs any assistance, please reach out to your Lodge officers and we will help in any capacity that we can!

My goal this year is to take all the bits and pieces of information I have given you in lectures and messages and put them in order. The information covers both Freemasonry in general and American Freemasonry. In January I discussed the operative and speculative sides of Freemasonry, moving into other areas, and finally discussed American Freemasonry. I hope this was informative and provided answers to any questions you may have had.

In my Masonic Bible there is a creed which states that Freemasonry teaches the universal principle of unselfish friendship and promotes those precepts which are in keeping with all great faiths. In pursuing this doctrine the statement that “mankind was created by God” is considered to be a basic, though not exclusive, Masonic belief. This one God is the author of all life. Man’s reverence for God is best exemplified by his fellowman. The soul of man is immortal. The Book of Holy Scriptures is the ultimate authority of great light in Freemasonry.

OES TB In writing this Eastern Star edition of the Trestleboard as Worthy Matron, the first word that comes to mind is Gratitude! Starting with the support we received from the Sisters, Brothers and Ladies to help promote our bake sales during the Masons Chicken Dinners, to Brother Jon Marston preforming the role of liaison for Worshipful Master Mike and myself to get the schedules in line for the Installation of Eastern Star Officers and the Masons Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner. A beautiful example of us working together for the Greater Good. Thank You.

The Installation of officers for the Eastern Star 2020-21 year was a busy day with 50 guests and 13 of the 18 Officers able to be Installed. The 5 that weren’t able to be there due to illness are in our prayers. We had an Installing suite consisting of Sister Judy Wilson PGM as Installing Officer, Brother Lou Ortt P.P. as Installing Patron, Sister Sally Padron Past Grand Ruth as Installing Marshal, Sister Norma Jean Dunn P.M. as Installing Chaplain, and Sister Jane Stewart Past Grand Organist as the Installing Organist. I would like to thank Worshipful Master Mike Short and W. . Bill Reed who took time away from the other Masonic obligations to represent the Brothers.

I would like to thank EVERYONE for helping this day flow smoothly.

Eastern Star will be Dark through the month of April due to the virus with the hopes of returning on Wednesday May 13, 2020. However I just found out that my last paragraph about the lunch and School of Instruction is no longer correct information because Lucy won’t officially be the new Grand Instructor to hold the school until AFTER Grand Chapter meets and is over. It has been rescheduled to June. Let’s make sure to reach out to one another during this period of ”social distancing” to make sure everyone is doing ok and have what they need. Prayers for the whole world over and God.
