engineering solutions we deliver. WEMEC’s Consultancy Team has vast EMC and Electrical engineering experience. This, combined with our ever-growing skill set and network of partners, allows us to offer a multitude of services as summarised below.
EMC qualification is intended to ensure that “an electronic or electrical product shall work as intended in its electromagnetic environment”. EMC is a specialist area and plays an important part during the design and compliance phases of any product or platform. WEMEC’s Consultancy Team has a breadth of skills and expertise allowing us to offer a comprehensive range of services and solutions ensuring that EMC will be managed efficiently, accurately and in a cost effective manner. WEMEC can provide expert interpretation of requirements; whether contractual or legislative, along with all necessary documentation including control and test plans, test reports and technical construction files (TCF).
ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
WEMEC carries out the design, development and delivery of bespoke training courses using the Systems Approach to Training (SAT). Experienced Company Staff have designed, developed and delivered numerous courses on behalf of the MOD and Industry, as well as conducting external training evaluation. The design, development and evaluation process includes the necessary Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and stakeholder engagement. This ensures a coherent set of outcomes/recommendations allowing informed, cost effective training solutions to be constructed. WEMEC consultants also produce comprehensive Computer Based Training (CBT) packages ensuring maximum ‘people integration’ with systems and/ or equipment.
WEMEC has a breadth of experience in multiple sectors of industry including Military, Marine, Automotive and commercial. Our experience has been gained with consultants averaging over 20 years in the field of EMC engineering, ranging from EMC facility management and International Standards Development to large programme management for a wide range of customers.
WEMEC are ISO 9001 accredited and participate on a number of committees including ISO standards development and International Special Committee on Radio Interference (CISPR) development. Previously involved in the development of Defence Standard 61-5 for 12V and 24V DC Electrical Systems in Military Platforms, GEL/106 Human exposure to low frequency and high frequency electromagnetic radiation.

Our power system design capability spans over 20 years in the design and project execution of integrated power and propulsion systems for offshore DP vessels (PSVs, DSVs, drilling vessels) incorporating Vessel Management Systems (VMS) and Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems.
WEMEC has vast experience in vehicle platform system integration through working with a number of DE&S Delivery Teams on a range of platforms. This includes armoured platforms to covert vehicles encompassing ISTAR and Situational Awareness Systems. WEMEC specialises in design analysis and design recommendations; including performance testing of electrical power systems and EMC characterisation and certification.
WEMEC can provide design, consultancy and project engineering services for a range of industries, actively engaging with clients at Pre-FEED, FEED, Tender, Detailed Design, Commissioning and Operational phases of a project.
WEMEC provides consultancy services in offshore activities, including developing decision support tools that are used to manage the risk of a loss of position on Dynamic Positioned vessels. This involves producing Activity or Well Specific Operating Guidelines (ASOG and WSOG). WEMEC is part of a group of companies that form a team of recognised experts in dynamic positioning, with WEMEC as the team’s subject matter experts in EMC. WEMEC conduct a wealth of Through Life Management
services across the engineering spectrum ranging from the production of full Through Life Management Plans and other holistic documents such as Systems Engineering Management Plans, to Integrated Logistics Support activities and Requirements and Acceptance / Test and Evaluation tasks.
WEMEC has the ability to produce technical publications and translations. These include, but are not limited to: handbooks, technical manuals, software manuals, instructional manuals, training manuals and illustrated parts.
Our System Safety engineers provide clients across defence with assistance and production of safety deliverables in accordance with JSP815, DEFSTAN 00-56 and the Project Oriented Safety Management System (POSMS), as well as domain specific requirements. This includes Safety Management Systems, Safety Management Plans, Hazard Logs, and Safety Case Reports. WEMEC is also able to offer Independent Safety Auditors, Assessors and Advisors (ISAs) where required.
