Q2: What is an energy audit in terms of the Energy Efficiency Directive?
The directive defines an energy audit as:
“a systematic procedure with the purpose of obtaining adequateknowledge of the existing energyconsumption profile of a building or group of buildings, an industrial or commercial operation or installation or a private or public service, identifyingand quantifying cost-effective energysavings opportunities, and reportingthe findings“

Q2: What is an energy audit in terms of the Energy Efficiency Directive?
• Examination of companies energy consumption to identify
energy saving potentials
Entails the energy consumption of which the company is in
charge of:
Buildings
Processes
Transport
• The energy audit should be carried out no later than 5 December 2015, and the report should be sent to the Danish Energy Agency no later than 1 Marts 2016 (at [email protected]).

Companies with an energy audit carried out between 4 December 2012 and 1 July 2014
The transportation obligation is met if the transport company has and Green certification from the Transport Authority.
Valid till 1 March 2016

Up to 10 pct. of the total energy consumption in the company in Denmark can
be excepted
Elements of the companies comprised by the BAT-conclusions, that are
related to energy efficiency.
The building part may be exempted, if it has a valid label of operation based
on a examination of the building.

Energy audits must be based on:
Updated, measured and traceable operational data on energy consumption
A loading profile for electricity
Lifecycle-cost-analyses when possible

In addition it must be:
A proportionate, sufficiently representative and credible picture of the entire energy use and energy savings potential
Data must be storable for historical analysis and tracking performance
Approved standards for energy audit (DS/EN 16247 1-4):

Q8: Who can carry out energy audits?
People including in-house experts, who perform energy audits should have:
Qualifications for energy consultants (DS/EN 16247-5) or should have obtain approval from the Danish Energy Agency ([email protected]).
In-depth knowledge of buildings, industrial processes, industrial plants or transport.
External experts should either be:
Employed in a company that is accredited by DANAK or a corresponding accreditation-organ.
Employed in a certified energy label company in trade and serviceand Educated energy label consultants.

Q9: Which options of support are there in connection to an energy audit in Denmark?
• The Danish version of the energy efficiency obligation schemes
Counselling or subsidy for the implementation of energy
savings from the energy companies.
• ”Renewable energy for processing industry”
In connection to the replacement of fossil energy in
production and for energy savings an investment subsidy is
given.
