This is a PowerPoint presentation of about five minutes duration.

It will explain how to search the E-Class for model job descriptions.

You may exit the presentation at any time simply by closing the Window.

This screen is used to pre-filter the database by specific classification plan.

Unless you are filtering on classification plan factors or rating profile, you should simply accept the default selection – All Plans -

This is the top portion of the search form…

It contains basic position information search fields.

You can search using any combination of almost 30 distinct criteria!

Use the scrollbar to move up and down the form. Click here to see the bottom portion of the form…

This is the bottom portion of the search form…

It contains case file location and file ‘ownership’ search fields, as well as a priority field. This part of the search form is used primarily by HR Consultants.

Users search for suitable job descriptions by finding positions performing a particular type and level of work.

When those position case files have been found, all relevant documents, including the job description, will be found to be attached as hyperlinks.

Users simply click on those hyperlinks to download and save the source documents.

Search Functionality

The most common searches are by…

• position title (what we call it)

• work family and stream (what it does)

• classification (how it is ranked)

• ministry (who ‘owns’ it)

• position number (unique identifier)

• case number (unique identifier)

Entering Search Criteria

Managers use the View/Search screen to filter the database for positions that meet certain characteristics.

For example…

“Find jobs having the word ‘Facilities’ in the position title.”“Find jobs in the Ministry of Health that do policy work.”“Find examples of communications jobs at Management Levels 5 or 6.”

Searches are executed by clicking the Submit button.
