Will God destroy the world because of evil?

*Answer

*As much was some would like to think so, this is not taught in the Bible.

*Yes, God did destroy an ancient world of “ungodly” people because of their wickedness, Gen. 6:5-7, 12-13.

*However…

*After that event, God promised that even though man was evil, he would never again destroy all living things as he had done.

*“And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart. “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.” (Gen 8:20).

*Evil Will Continue…

*Even after the New Heaven and earth arrived, evil men would continue to live ungodly outside the city of God.

* Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:14-15)

*The Earth Will Continue

*One generation passes and another comes but the earth abides forever, Eccl. 1:4

*For How Long?

*The physical world will continue as long as the name of Christ continues.

*“His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; And nations shall call Him blessed. (Psalm 72:17).

*If the sun and moon ever end, so will the name of Christ.

*The Name of Christ

*Which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only this age but also in that which is to come. (Eph. 20-21).

*Will Christ’s Name End?

*And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isa. 9:6-7)

*There is no end to the Everlasting Father

*There is no end to the name of Christ

*There is no end to the kingdom of God

*Therefore, there is no end to the physical world.
