Mangal Chandika StotraOne of the most powerful prayers is Mangal Chandika Stotra, addressed to Goddess Chandika, an incarnation of Parvati. Reciting the principle Mantra containing 21 letters - Om Hreem Sreem Kleem Sarva Poojye Devi Mangala Chandike, aim kroom phat svaaha, for ten lakh (10,00,000) times can attain this Mantra's Siddhi. When a male or a female recites the above Mantra and Stotra regularly and with devotion, he/she will have no obstacles in his/her life, will be get married early and lead a happy life. The worship should be commenced on a Tuesday and kept up continuously.This is particularly extremely favourable for those natives having Kuja Dosha of any magnitude. Though various Mangal Stotras have been given which are very useful and tested by us and various Acharya of astrology, this is a small Mangal Stotra of four lines, which may be read or recited by those who can not read long Mangal Stotra in Sanskrit. 7. Brahma Krit Sarva Mangal StotraThis Stotra is recited for prevention of Kuja (Mangal) Dosha and happy and auspicious married life.8. Janaki Krit Parvati Stotra (For happy and early marriage) Many times, marriage of girls get appreciably delayed or denied due to adverse placement of planets including Mars. Those girls would be married decently, happily and would enjoy high degree of conjugal bliss if they would read 'Janaki Krit Parvati Stotra'. It is best to read the Stotra during the Vrata of Mata Gauri after performing proper Shodshopchar Poojan of Gauri.

9. Radhakrit Shree Krishna Stotra (For happy and intact marriage)This is highly useful Stotra for ail aspects of married life. Mangal Yantra and Mangal KavachA) Mangal KavachThe function of Mangal Kavach is different than Mangal Stotra. Mangal Kavach should be recited where protection and safety is required. This is very useful for those in whose birth chart, serious combination of accident and violent death is indicated.

This Mangal Kavach is most useful for those who are suffering due to malefic effects of Mars. This is wonderful Kavach, which ruins enemies or the enemies are badly defeated in the fight. If one is suffering from evil spirits, the recitation of the Kavach will remove all such problems. This prevents all kinds of ailments especially those, which are indicated by Mars such as Blood Pressure, muscular trouble, injury, burns, cuts, boils and operation etc.

B) Mangal YantraThere are many kids of remedial measures in which yantra and tantra play a prominent role in curtailing the evils. Yantra means an instrument or apparatus or a TILASM, a mystical graph. It is the shortest and easiest boon handed over to us by our Siddha sages for fulfilment of our ambitions. Various Yantras are worshiped in our old temples, such as Gayatri yantra is worshipped in Bahuchari Mandir. A yantra is worshipped in Amba Mata temple. Shri yantra made of solid gold by Adi Shankaracharya is worshipped in Annapurna Mandir of Varanasi. These yantras can be made on gold, silver, copper, bhojpatra, or sphatik etc. Auspicious and some specific Muhurts have also been specified for preparation of yantra. These yantras can be written on bhojpatra with Ashtagandh using stylus of Anaar (Pomegranate). These can be also be carved or embossed on various metals as mentioned above. Special and specific Mantra japa and worship is done on these yantras to energize them.Mars does play a vital role, in a female chart particularly, as it is a karaka or significator for husband. Therefore, the affliction of Mar: curtails the marital harmony and causes delay. Mangal Yantra has beei used very successfully to rectify such adversities. This also protects om from enemies and rivals and they are defeated. Accidents and conflicts, wounds, operations etc are cured or saved. This yantra is of a triangular shape and it is embossed or engraved over a triangular plate of copper. Twenty one triangles are made inside a big sized triangle. Different names of Mars are written in every small triangle. The yantra of Mars should be properly placed vertically for its propitiation. Mangal Vrat:Manglik persons or those who are suffering from the evils of Mars regarding the absence of conjugal bliss owing to any reason, or the possibility of loss of life of the partner or separation, or otherwise those who are leading miserable married life due to the adversity of Mars must observe Vrat on Tuesday in the following way : -First of all shodashashopchar Poojan of Mars should be done as explained above with full faith, devotion and dedication. Certain specification, norms, methods and stories have been mentioned in various texts on Vrats. Here we will be discussing all important points of Mangal Vrat i.e. observation of Vrat on Tuesdays. We want to draw the attention of such readers that Vrat on Tuesday does not mean the Vrat of Hanumanji. Mangal Vrat may be observed to please Mangal graham, Mata Durga or any of her incarnation and to please Hanumanji as well. Here we are mostly concerns with the Vrat on Tuesdays to prevent the adversity cast by planet Mars. The girls or ladies who are suffering or may suffer due to the evil effects of Mars in their birth charts or if they have Kuja Dosha and get married with a non-Manglik boy, must observe Vrat on Tuesdays.The Sankalp should be taken by keeping rice, water, betel nuts, flowers and money in the right palm facing towards east or west. Thereafter the contents in the hand should be put in front of Ganapti Devta. After Sankalp Shodshopchar Poojan of Ganapati and Mangal Graha is essential. The salt of any kind is strictly prohibited in Mangal Vrat. Any fruits which contain salt, should not be taken. After completing the Vrat one should sing Aarti of Mars before going to bed. But the Vrat can be extended for 5 years or for whole of the life as advised by Guru or Acharya or by any competent astrologer. After completing the Vrat of Mars, Udyapan is required. It means that the devotee is terminating the Mangal Vrat now onwards. He begets pardon for his mistakes and donates to Brahmins.Mangala Gauri VratMangala Gauri Vrat is very common in Maharashtra. This Vrat should be observed by married women so that they may never suffer widowhood; so that they may enjoy the association of their husbands and may lead a pleasant and happy married life.The Vrat should be observed for five years on each and every Tuesday commending from first Tuesday of Shraavan. After successful completion of five years of Mangala Gauri Vrat, the same may be observed on Tuesdays of Shraavan Maas only i.e. 4 times in a year during the month of Shraavan only.First of all Sthapana of Mangala Gauri should be done. Navgrahj and Matrikaa Kalash etc should also be properly placed facing toward; north. Shodoshopachar Poojan should be done of all these including Mangala Gauri. Thereafter the story of Mangala Gauri Vrat is read an< heard and take the Prasad. After completing the Sankalp, worship of Mangal Gauri, touch the ground after removing the mat or Aasan and touch your forehead.Vat Savitri VratThis is the most useful, common and well-known Vrat for the long and healthy life of husband. Manglik girls and married mangle women must observe this Vrat for everlasting conjugal bliss. This Vrat is observed from Amavasya day of the month of Jyestha. In this Vrat, worship of the banyan tree of or Vat Virksha which is the strongest tree and has a very long life is performed.First of all the girl should prepare small spherical sweets by frying them. Honey should be mixed in wheat flour and as many as 108 round shaped (shape of Vat Vriksha) sweets should be made and thereafter they should be fried. They should be poured in a thread like a garland. Poori and Halwa should also be made for Prasad. Water soaked grams (bheega hua desi chana) should also be included in the Prasad. Take the container; keep the garland of fried small sweets, Poori, Halwa and grains along with Roli, Sindoor, rice, flowers, Ghee, Dhoop, Deep, Camphor, red cloth, Gur, Haldi, various sweets and money etc. One should go to Vat Virksha taking this container along with water in any vessel. Stem of the Vat Vriksha should be properly washed and Shodhopchar i.e. 16 fold worship must be done. First of all the earthen lamp of pure ghee should be lighted thereafter Shodshopchar Poojan should be performed one by one as mentioned earlier in this chapter.After Shodshopchar Poojan and worship, prayers should be made by the women for their Akhand Saubhagya i.e. long life of the husband. After observing the l/ratfor whole of the day, the lady should take sweets and fruits or meal with one cereal. 'Bayana should also be taken out and should be given to mother-in-law or sister-in-law, if they are available. If they are not available, Bayana should be given to any married woman whose husband is alive.The Vat Savitri Vrat is observed once in a year but its significance is so important that any lady should never miss it. After performing this Vrat the lady should also touch the feet of her husband and the husband should bless her for her Akhand Saubhagya.Sacred Gauri VratThere is a very detailed account of our Puranas on this rare and most efficacious Vrat or vow for Gauri (Parvati). One who reads or recites this story every day, for one year, will get worthy spouse.It is deemed that this Vrat has been in place since remote past by tradition. This Vrat grants husbands as desired by women i.e. according to their genuine wishes. By this Vrat, a woman obtains a highly affectionate husband. A girl (i.e. the aspirant) should fast on the previous day (i.e. before commencement of the month concerned), wash off the clothes (to be used the next day) and lead a restrained life. On the next day i.e. on the day of the month of Margasira commences (i.e. Shukal Paksh, Padyami, or the first lunar day of the bright half of Margasira month, with the Nirayana Sun transiting in Scorpio), she should take bath in near by river and wear the previously washed robes. In a sacred pot, the six prescribed deities viz. Ganesha, Surya, Agni (fire), Vishnu, Siva and Durga should be invoked after worshipping them with various articles offering the five kinds of Upacharas (oblations like clothes and ornaments). Before the Kalasa (sacred pot), a square vedi (i.e. square area of ground to serve for sacrificial altar, having receptacles for the sacrificial fire) should be prepared. Sandal, incense, Kasturi (musk) and Kumkuma (saffron) should be applied on the Vedi. An idol of Durga with ten arms should be got made of sand. A mark of saffron should be applied on the forehead of the idol, and an offer of camphor and sandal should also be made on the other part of the body of the idol. The goddess should be invoked with prayers. Then the following Mantra should be recited.The idol of Durga should be worshipped with the above cited Mantra, after taking a Sankalpa along with the following Moola Mantra, stipulated in Saama Veda.Reciting these Mantras, the goddess should be prayed with the most secretive prayers conjoined even to the most excellent of sages. Dheemahi Tannah Klinee Prachodayaat. Such persons as may be facing delay or denial of their marriage, or suffering tension in their married life, must garland Lord Haridra Ganesh's\do\ with flowers. They should apply Haldi (turmeric) Tilak' on his forehead also.Method : While chanting the Mantra : Om Ganeshaaya Namaha,One by one offer 108 flowers to the idol of the deity, followed by the recital of the Ganesha Aarti. This should be done for 40 days. Such persons should keep fast on Thursday, starting it on any Thursday itself. Also keep a turmeric piece under the pillow. When they go for seeing their potential bride or groom, they must mark the Tilak' on their forehead themselves with turmeric paste. Offer jaggery as Prasadam to Lord Ganesha. Their marriage related wish shall be definitely fulfilled. On any Thursday go to a Vishnu-Lakshmi temple and offer a 'Kalagi' (an aigrette which is normally fixed at the top of the 'Sehara') to the lord, along with 5 Laddoos of Besan. Soon the marriage will be solemnized if it is getting obstructed. In order to ensure marriage at due time the person should get up early in the morning, on any Thursday in a bright fortnight and take bath, wear yellow clothes. Then get Besan (flour of grains) from the market should prepare Laddoo in Desi Ghee adding 'Boora' (crushed sugar) in them. Prepare 108 Laddoos and put them on a yellow basket having a yellow cloth already laid down. Put some money as Dakshina according to your financial capacity. Take this Laddoo filled basket to a Shiva Mandir, worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Parvati and say your prayer to fulfil your desire. Then give the Laddoos to a Brahman. Your wish will surely be fulfilled. Start the following steps (or worship) in front of the image or idol of Lord Vishnu & Goddess Lakshmi, in the bright fortnight on any Thursday. Chant the following Mantra's three 'Malas' (3x108 times) with the help of a Sphatik Mala or Lakshmi Varada Mala. Offer Prasadam for three months on every Thursday and pray for your daughter's or son's marriage. You shall get desired results. The nubile girl should go to a temple of Lord Shiva, after her bath and pour down milk on the Shiva Lingam while chanting the Mantra:Om Someshwaraya Namaha"Also chant 108 times this Mantra with the help of a Rudraksha Mala. Soon she would get married. This should be done with full devotion. Another tip for ensuring the removal of the obstructions of daughter's marriage is the following. Chant the following Mantra for eleven days at a stretch. While chanting its one 'Mala' (108 times) every day. The Mantra is:"Om Gauri Aave Shiyji Vjahve...(mention the daughter's name)Kaa Vivaah TurantSiddha /fare. DerNa Kare.Der Hoya to Shiv Ka Trishool Pare-guruGorakhnath Ki Duhaayee".This mantra should be chanted after burning incense and cleaning the ambience. On the 11th day take an earthen 'Kullarh' (earthen cup) and cover its mouth with a red cloth. Mark that Kullarh with 7 points outside with the help of 'Roli' (red powder), keep its marked portion towards you. Now before it chant the above mentioned Mantra for 5 vMalas' (or 5x108 times). When you have done so, keep the Kullarh quietly at a crossing and don't look back. This procedure shall ensure removal of all obstructions and your daughter's quick marriage. If a nubile girl be facing a denial or delay in her marriage she must read ^Sundar Kaand'cti "Sri Ramcharita Manas'everyday for twenty one days in a row before the image or idol of Lord Hanuman - or better before that photograph in which Lord Hanuman is seen giving Lord Ram's ring to Sitaji. She should keep her face towards North while reading the holy text. And conclude it with carefully saying her prayer to Lord Hanuman concerning her marriage. The reading of the text should be commenced on any Friday under an auspicious Muhurta. After doing so she must apologise for having inadvertently committing some error in pronunciation. This text should be preceded and followed by the following 'Samput' rhyme:"jab Janak Payi Vishishta Aayasa Byaah SaajSanwarikeMandavi Shrutikeerat Urmila Kunwar Laayi Hankaarike" It is customary to offer some money to the boy's father, kept in an envelop, to give 'Shagun' for confirming the marriage. Make sure that your daughter (who is to be married) touches the envelop first. Make someone else carry the 'Shagun' pretending your inability to do so. This trick will ensure your daughter's marriage should it be facing obstructions.The Power of Mantra

Mantras are sacred sound syllables from our Vedic tradition. For thousands of years these sacred sound syllables have been refined to impart healing powers for spiritual development and total rejuvenation of mind and body. The mantras are energy-based sounds and thought-based waves. Like the flame of fire, it energises the Praanasakti or life force and creates an influence to quieten our mind. There are many types of mantras dedicated to different gods and goddesses for realizing ones desires, for destroying influences of evil forces as also for prosperity and good health as well as protection from dangers and destruction of diseases and obstacles. It is important to realise the meaning of the mantras and their significance. They must be recited properly with perfect pronunciation. They may also be uttered silently or in whispers.

The mantras are also prayers in praise of or to propitiate different gods and goddesses in order to get their favour for material or spiritual purposes. Thus different mantras are there to address different gods and goddesses. On the occasion of the ensuing Navaraatri we here mention some of the mantras taken from Durgaasaptasatee addressed to goddess Durgaa for achieving material and spiritual ends.

Different lettersvowels or consonantsand sounds create different tunes and the these tunes create Naadasakti or sound-energy. Again, this sound-energy creates different effects and their combined effect inflames our body, mind, brain and our speech. Regular incantation and silent prayer creates power in our self.

The rhythmic utterance of words in verse, with fixed feet and syllables or without these, loudly or in whispers, are the mantras. These are the prayers to propitiate god or goddess in order to achieve the desired result.

The word Mantra is originated from the combination of two words namely man i.e. manan (Thinking or conceiving) and Tra (Salvation or Deliverance). In a nutshell, a Mantra is that, the thought or silent utterance of which gives us desired result and we achieve deliverance. Mantra is the receptacle of boundless powers. The power of different gods lies hidden in different mantras, like the tree lies hidden in its seeds. If we sow the seed in the earth and nurse it with water and manure, we can find that the seed is germinated and in course of time takes the shape of a giant tree. Likewise if we employ all our strength, thought and speech in incantation of the prayer of god, we can achieve the beneficence of god.

It is important to understand the meaning and significance of the mantras and recite them properly. According to our shastras, the only way to attain our desired objectmaterial or spiritualis the utterance of the mantra with purity of mind and body.

Mantras can be divided into three classes(i) To achieve the blessings of Supreme Being (Paramaarthik); (ii) To achieve any desired result of worldly value (Kaamanaasiddhi)\ and (iii) To practice incantation with malevolent purpose (Tantrik). In Paramaarthik mantra there is no room for worldly desire. This type of mantra is meant to pray in praise of a particular god. The purpose is to merge with the Supreme Soullike the Gaayatree Mantra etc. The Kaamanaasiddhi mantra is meant to get the favour of a particular god or goddess in order to get over the danger, to achieve health, wealth, prosperity, goodwill and fame, sons and daughters and also to be free from disease etc. The Tantrik or Abhichaar mantra is a subject matter of casting spell on the enemy, to perform the rites for malevolent purposes. The application of the Shatkarma (six rites), almost all of which is meant for causing damage to or destruction of others. These are Maarana, (ceremony performed for anothers destruction); Mohana (fascinating or bewildering); Uchaatana (to create anxiety, worry and uneasiness); Baseekarana (bringing others into subjection etc.); Bidveshana (to cause malice or animosity); Stambhana (Stupefaction or act of causing to fall in a stupor, making others motionless etc.) and Jrimbhana (producing or inducing sleep) etc.

The mantras have been divided into three categories according to gender. (i) The Masculine mantra If the mantra ends with Phat or Bashat, it is called masculine mantra. (ii) The feminine mantraIf the mantra ends with Swaahaa, it is then called feminine mantra. (iii) The neuter mantra (neither male nor female)if the mantra ends with the sound hoong or namah, it is then called the neuter mantra.

The mantra can be classified into five types: (i) Pinda; (ii) Kartaree; (iii) Beejamantra; (iv) mantra; and (v) Maalaamantra. Pinda consists of only one letter, Kartaree consists of two letters; Beejamantra consists of three letters like Om, Hreeng, Kleeng, Sreeng etc; Mantra consists of ten letters; and Maalaamantra consists of more than twenty letters.

The first and foremost among all the mantras is the Beejamantra Om. It is the essence of life and represents creation, development and destruction. It is the sacred syllable and the seed of all mantras. The sound Om is a combination of A which signifies Vishnu, U for Siva and M signifies Brahmaa. The sound Om is called Pranava (the essence of life) or Brahmaa (ultimate essence).

Mantra is the only way to attain ones desires, provided one recites it with absolute faith and suggested methods and rules. Purity of thoughts, words and deeds, and a deep-seated belief in repeating mantras systematically and without any stress or strain on the body and mind are the keynotes of success of mantra. It is the means of purifying the mind. Each mantra is the storehouse of infinite divine power and all are equally powerful.

Among all the mantras Gaayatree mantra is the greatest prayer mantra which incorporates all the ideas of the universal cosmic sound Om. It is the mother of all mantras and it is addressed to the Sun. The sun is the source of life and it is the symbolic representation of the supreme divinity, for He destroys darkness and promotes life, and is identified with our inner self. The Gaayatree mantra is that the whole universe is made of universal life force or energy, and the symbolism of Gaayatree represents this monism in dualism that energy and consciousness are one and the same. The word Gaayatree is the combination of two words Gaayam which means the cosmic and universal energy, and tree which means working in various ways. The recitation of this mantra is said to dispel fear, sorrow and misery and leads to the attainment of peace, prosperity and harmony in society as it purifies the mind.
