INEncrypted PIN Entry for POSSmartPIN is a PIN Entry Device (PED) designed for outdoor or indoor unat-tended POS operations where encrypted PIN entry is required. The products can be used for both Online and Offline PIN verification operations. SmartPIN products are used in POS machines for fuel dispensing, kiosks, vending, and other devices accepting credit and debit payments. SmartPIN is available as a PED only or as a PED with integral backlit LCD display & 3 programmable application/function keys.

A Secure and Rugged PEDSmartPIN is PCI compliant and certified for the highest degree of PIN security. DES & Triple DES are used for encryption and DUKPT is used for key manage-ment. The Smart PIN design is robust, withstands abusive use, and is vandal resistant. The keys and display are waterproof for splashed, spilled, & direct liquid spray. Along with the molded plastic body with flush mounting stainless steel cover, the keys are either plastic or stainless steel with engraved keys to withstand harsh use & environment. A battery maintains the cryptographic keys during power outages, and storage.

Secure Communication and OperationThe 16 PIN pad keys are arranged in telephone layout, ADA compliant, and have an audio output feedback. The backlit LCD display (optional) has 2 lines x 16 characters for information text and visual indication of the PIN entry process. PIN entry is encrypted and securely transmitted over the RS232 or USB 2.0 communication interface.
