We read in our current Scripture Psalm 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heav- en and earth. When the psalm writer felt threat- ened by danger he lifted his eyes to the mountains and beyond to the One who created the mountains. The question asked in verse 1 is answered in the verses that follow. He knew that his help came from the Lord, not from the mountains. 121:3-4 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Is- rael shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord, unlike man, is the best source of help. He gives sure footing when the path is narrow and bumpy. He is always on watch. He never slacks off nor sleeps like human look- outs. Remember how Elijah accused Baal of sleeping when he challenged Baals prophets on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:27). Its easy to lose sleep when we are ex- periencing tough problems. These are the times we lay in bed staring at the ceiling as millions of anxious thoughts race through our minds. We try to work out a solution to our troubles. As a re- sult, we become increasingly tired and our perspective and patience slowly disappears. We long for the peaceful sleep known to children. The good news is that we can sleep because God is always awake. The Psalmist offered an important message to those who are desperate for sleep in the middle of anxious times (Ps. 121:3b-4) — God never takes a break. God is awake when we are asleep. When we find ourselves in the mid- dle of difficult circumstances, we should turn things over to God when we go to bed because He will be awake all night anyway! We must learn to trust the Lord in the brightest day and in the darkest night. Only then will we be able to say along with David, I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.(Psalm 4:8). Steven Nicholas. We read in our current Scripture Psalm 121:1-2 ‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heav-en and earth.’ When the psalm writer felt threat-ened by danger he lifted his eyes to the mountains and beyond to the One who created the mountains. The question asked in verse 1 is answered in the verses that follow. He knew that his help came from the Lord, not from the mountains. 121:3-4 “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Is-rael shall neither slumber nor sleep.” The Lord, unlike man, is the best source of help. He gives sure footing when the path is narrow and bumpy. He is always on watch. He never slacks off nor sleeps like human look-outs. Remember how Elijah accused Baal of sleeping when he challenged Baal’s prophets on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:27). It’s easy to lose sleep when we are ex-periencing tough problems. These are the times we lay in bed staring at the ceiling as millions of anxious thoughts race through our minds. We try to work out a solution to our troubles. As a re-sult, we become increasingly tired and our perspective and patience slowly disappears. We long for the peaceful sleep known to children. The good news is that we can sleep because God is always awake. The Psalmist offered an important message to those who are desperate for sleep in the middle of anxious times (Ps. 121:3b-4) — God never takes a break. God is awake when we are

asleep. When we find ourselves in the mid-dle of difficult circumstances, we should turn things over to God when we go to bed because He will be awake all night anyway! We must learn to trust the Lord in the brightest day and in the darkest night. Only then will we be able to say along with David, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8). Steven Nicholas.

making the classroom a more serious environ-ment, allowing students to perform better academ-ically. Perhaps most importantly, a uniform means students don’t have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their clothes. When everyone is dressed the same, worrying about what you look like isn’t so important. There is no competition about being dressed in the latest trend, which would put a great deal of financial pressure on stu-dents and parents. Potential bullies have one less target for their insults; it’s hard to make fun of what someone is wearing when you’re dressed exactly the same.

NAPLAN 2018 Beginning Tuesday 15 May The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy assesses literacy and numeracy skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in the annual NAPLAN tests in reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numera-cy. The tests provide parents and schools with an understanding of how individual students are per-forming at the time of the tests. NAPLAN tests are just one aspect of our assessment and re-porting process; they do not replace ongoing as-sessments made by teachers about student per-formance. NAPLAN tests also provide schools, education authorities and governments with infor-mation about how education programs are work-ing and whether young Australians are meeting important educational outcomes in literacy and numeracy. http://www.nap.edu.au/naplan SCHOOL UNIFORM

A school uniform teaches students to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. Uni-forms can help students to prepare for when they leave school and may have to dress smartly or wear a uniform. Some people believe that a school uniform can improve learning by reducing distraction, sharpening focus on schoolwork and
