I am the resurrection and the life. he who believes in Me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.

Friendship Mission is the only KCC supported mis-

sion that is local here on the Kenai Peninsula. Friendship Mission provides food, shelter and bible studies for homeless men in our community. The Friendship has seen nearly 500 men pass through

the mission’s doors since it has opened. Some men have turned their lives over to Christ and are now

productive members in the community as well as in the Kingdom of God.

On the 1st Friday of each month, KCC Mission

Team sponsors a dinner at the Friendship Mission. All are welcome to join us. Sign up on the Menu List

on the wall in the KCC foyer.

Reflecting the Son I’m always amazed to learn in scripture how per-sonal our God is. When you compare how approachable He is as opposed to how other gods throughout history are portrayed, you begin to see the true character of our Heavenly Father. From the moment that God created humanity, He has pursued a very personal relationship with us that goes beyond book knowledge. In fact it goes deeper than a relationship to a true fellowship with Him where our lives begin to reflect His purity, righteousness, and love.

I love to learn about how close Moses was in his fellowship with God: Exodus 33:11 “The Lord spoke with Moses face to face, just as a man speaks with his friend.” Let that sink in a little bit. Moses was blessed to experi-ence a bit of the Garden of Eden by talking with his best friend, God. Can you imagine? I often wonder what those conversations covered. Did they share their con-cerns with one another? Did Moses get to see God’s smile? I’m sure it was full of encouragement as well. Re-gardless, their conversations, though strategic and pur-poseful, were definitely personal. So how did this per-sonal interaction affect Moses?

In scripture we learn that when Moses met with God, it didn’t just serve as a pep rally. Instead, Moses knew for certain what God’s plans and desires were. It helped shape Moses into the incredible leader that he was. Then there’s this very interesting fact found in Exo-dus 34:34-35 “After he (Moses) came out, he would tell the Israelites what he had been commanded, and the Is-raelites would see that Moses’ face was radiant.” After speaking directly to God, Moses’ face was literally glowing with the glory of Almighty Father! It was so bright and different that Moses started to wear a veil on his face so as not to scare or disturb the Hebrews. Moses reflected God’s perfect glory, His marvelous light.

And that is how we are to be. As followers of Je-sus Christ, we should be “reflecting the Son” as we spend regular time in communion, study and prayer. Our faces should look different than the rest of the world so much that they would inquire of us why we look so “bright.” So today, I challenge you to begin to reflect the Son in your life. Know His purity, righteousness, and love so well that it radiates from all that you are. Then give Him all the glory as others seek to know why you are different.

Reflecting Him,

-Adam
