Background

Spend Performance Management is an Analytical Application to help analyze Procurement Data. The application comes with its own rich client interface. But because the data model is based on standard BW and the content for the application gets deployed in the BW server just as the rest of standard BW content, the data model can hence be exposed to all of the data visualization interfaces that the standard BW content does. The purpose of this document is to provide instructions on how to expose Spend Performance Management content to the SAP Business Object Universe so that all of the other reporting tools that run on top of the universe can serve Spend data to the end users. The higher level data model architecture diagram of Spend Performance Management is given below:

Data Model Architecture Diagram

As is clear from the architecture diagram, all of the reporting data is exposed through a unified reporting layer. In BW terms, this unified layer has a Multi Provider (0ASA_MP01) which provides a single view of all of the underlying application cubes and Queries on top of this Multi Provider which become the basis of end user reports.

If Detail reports needs to be exposed to the Universe, similar procedure needs to be followed as outlined in this document for detail report queries which are built on top of the detail Multi Provider (0ASA_MP04).
