they will be able to arrange and conduct focus group
discussion, courtyard meeting, colloquium, workshop, andin-depth interview with peer group to get their views on howto protect themselves. With the help of local levelimplementers, adolescents group can take steps collectivelyto understand the interplay of challenging economic andsocial factors that brings about vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.These kinds of study oriented initiatives have to be done in away guided by text-curriculum under the local educationalinstitute that would make possible to generate findingsconsistently. In the course of exchanging views andinteraction with target community people, the adolescentshaving reproductive health literacy may share their exclusivefindings and result of message dissemination among thelocal policy makers and relevant stakeholders to reducevulnerability in the community as a whole.
Environment Protection Underpinned by Sustainable
Awareness through Training
Gearing human resources
Greening environment with long-lasting achievement
Our environment on the planet earth is the only knownenvironment that is supporting human survival in full sense. But environmental condition all over the world is degradingevery day very severely. The existence of human being isvery much interrelated concern of maintaining soundenvironment in sound dealing. Environment is beingdeformed frequently in different ways related tooverpopulation, unplanned urbanization, pollution, declination of cultivable land, deforestation, global warming, using pesticides, unsustainable agricultural and fishingpractices, over consumption, mishandling andmismanagement of wealth, sky-rocketing corruption,
illiteracy & ignorance, drastic poverty in the third world, militarization and wars and so on.
Environmental degradations are being diversified by humanbeing rapidly. The human race is thus endangering theirexistence. The first world habitually is promotingenvironmental degradation in diversified routes for makingavailability of their extreme contentment and prosperity. Butthey are not taking enough initiatives that peoples capacityof protecting development may be developed keeping pacewith time and need.
Protecting environment is one of the flagship components ofsustainable development. The United Nations Conference onthe issue of Human Environment in Stockholm in June 1972was the first global conference to highlight that

Bangladesh. The National Herbarium has made a list of 96
plants as threatened species in Bangladesh. Royal BengalTiger and Hilsa fish for which Bangladesh is exceptionallyfamous are no longer available in plenty. In view of thenature of human activities in overexploiting the habitat ofthese species, it is evident from the list of endangeredspecies that the ecology of Bangladesh is deteriorating underpressures of overpopulation, industrialization andurbanization. In the light of previous history, we may saythat it is a fairly recent phenomenon.
For conserving and promoting sustainable use ofbiodiversity, foremost, general people should be aware ofavenues as to environment protection. Their capacity shouldbe developed that they are able to be well-equipped withenough means, and ways and technologies to protectenvironment from degradation. With this great mission,Aquis Consulting Group of Australia founded in 1993 has
been delivering best practice environmental training forbusinessmen and government clients both within theircapacity and through their partners worldwide.
Rainbow Nari O Shishu Kallayan Foundation conductingand offering training in biodiversity prospecting over theyears organized socio-economic assessments on preservingenvironment in its rural intervention areas in 2007. As perthe findings of the assessments, it is possible to developcapacity of rural people of Bangladesh easily and effectivelythrough human resource development activities andcourtyard centered orientation cum training is the veryeffective means to make aware them about theirresponsibility to preserving biodiversity and environment.
Improving knowledge and skill as for biodiversity
preservation should be ensured in all areas of life includinghome, community and at work. In relation with this, utilization of local training providers may be set as thenecessary part of strong community network to provideenvironmental learning opportunity for all.

to both of the educated people with all of basic amenities and

By the way, developing local peoples capacity onbiodiversity preservation may get especial emphasis in thepoint of making all the segments of the communitiesinvolved with sustainable environment awareness campaign.

Women Empowerment, Cornerstone
of HIV Prevention
There are some forms of risky behavior that directly makeswomen vulnerable to HIV/AIDS in the developing countrieslike Bangladesh. It should be cornerstone of life to get rid ofrisky behavior through improving living standard any how.For the greater involvement of vulnerable women in everyaspect of curbing epidemic, they have to be able to respondto the epidemic in a meaningful manner.
In a society, if women and girls are not empowered todevelop life skills they are severely vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.Gender discrimination, sexual violence, women trafficking, dowry, early marriage and low levels of reproductive healthliteracy are considered as key factors in the spread of STIs.
A large proportion of women is infected with HIV from
regular partners who were infected during paid sex. Forinstance, in Mumbai and Pune (in Maharashtra), 54% and49% of sex workers, respectively, had been found to beHIV-infected in 2005. Across sub-Saharan Africa, womenare more likely than men to be infected with HIV. Theunfortunate fact is that vulnerability among women ismounting all over the world. Only women empowerment cancontain this vulnerability.
Profound advocacy can be an important and familiar way ofbreaking down barriers for undermining genderdiscrimination and stigma. The spread of HIV/AIDS is beingfueled among the women of developing countries throughsuch risky factors as exorbitant prevalence of HIV in theneighboring countries, increased population movement bothinternal & external, existence of commercial sex with

decline nourished by gender inequality may make
women and girls engaged in risky sexual behavior inlieu of getting money, food and other facilities. Havinglack of enough access to quality treatment and care, then they fall into enormous vulnerability to sexuallytransmitted diseases (STIs) one after another.
As per the finding of Rainbow Nari O Shishu KallyanFoundation, 95 per cent adolescent girls of Bangladesh
are drastically vulnerable to HIV/AIDS because of theirpaltry access to necessary information for protectingtheir reproductive health. Due to their poverty at thelevels of awareness, skill, knowledge, attitude andpractice all along, they are being more vulnerableconsecutively. When they are enough adult they are notable to ensure their role as potential manpower inplanning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating
pro-gender programs and projects.
Considering all the situations related to sexual behavior, social attitudes and praxis, financial empowerment andso on, there are in-depth differences between mens andwomens access to information, prevention, treatmentand care-giving supports. It is much more common inall cultures that commitments for guiding sexual
behavior and sexual health are being threatened bygender discrimination. If women and girls have notqualitative reproductive health literacy HIV/AIDS willbe turned into as the greatest social problem indeveloping countries. According to the findings ofUNAIDS, as of December 2000, ninety five per cent of
all AIDS cases have occurred in developing countries.
Through promoting, facilitating and supporting theimplementation of gender mainstreaming, AIDSprevention should be brought about under the spotlightof women empowerment. Gender mainstreaming andwomen empowerment are obviously complementarystrategies. So the strategy of gender mainstreamingwithin HIV/AIDS prevention should be outlined that
women empowerment is ensured.

to direct and coordinate gender mainstreaming efforts
in the area of HIV/AIDS.
It is hoped that advancing the goal of gender equalityand equity in addressing the HIV/AIDS pandemic froma multi-sectoral perspective comes in to curb the spreadof HIV/AIDS fruitfully. If women and girls haveadequate access to sexual and reproductive healthservices they would be stirred up to adopt healthier
sexual behavior. Women and girls need information andeducation, skills, access to technologies, economicresources, social capital as well as the opportunity. As aresult they have a voice in decision-making at all levelsas a whole.
