National Foreword
This European Standard EN 60745-1:2009 + Corrigendum 1:2010-04 + A11:2010 has the status of anAustrian Electrotechnical Regulation in accordance with the Austrian Electrotechnical Act 1992 and the statusof an Austrian Standard in accordance with the Austrian Federal Act on Standardization 1971.
The legal status of this Austrian Electrotechnical Regulation/Austrian Standard is stated in the respectivedecree under the Electrotechnical Act.
European Standards (EN) are implemented as Austrian Electrotechnical Regulations/Austrian Standardsaccording to the common CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations by publication of an identical text and byadding ÖVE/ÖNORM to the EN number.
According to the foreword of the EN the latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the ENhave to be withdrawn is 2013-10-01 (dow, date of withdrawal). Until this deadline the following standard maybe applied:

This amendment A11 modifies the European Standard EN 60745-1:2009; it was approved by CENELEC on2010-10-01. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations whichstipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.
Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained onapplication to the Central Secretariat or to any CENELEC member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other languagemade by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to theCentral Secretariat has the same status as the official versions.
CENELEC members are the national electrotechnical committees of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus,the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy,Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia,Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

This amendment was prepared by the Technical Committee CENELEC TC 116, Safety of motor-
operated electric tools.
The text of the draft was submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure and was approved byCENELEC as amendment A11 to EN 60745-1:2009 on 2010-10-01.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject ofpatent rights. CEN and CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patentrights.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the amendment has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identicalnational standard or by endorsement (dop) 2011-10-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflictingwith the amendment have to be withdrawn (dow) 2013-10-01
