The Secretary to the Govt. of India,Ministry of Agriculture, Department ofAnimal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries,Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi invitesapplications to fillup one post of Sr.Fisheries Scientist (Group A Gazetted)in the Pay Band PB-3 of Rs.15600-39100/- + Grade Pay of Rs.6600/-corresponding to the pre-revised payscale of Rs.10000-325-15200/- inFishery Survey of India, Mumbai bytransfer on deputation (including short-term contract) basis for a period of 3years, from the Officers under theCentral/State Governments/UnionTerritories Administration/ AgriculturalUniversities/Semi Government/Autonomous Bodies or StatutoryOrganizations:a) (i) Holding analogous posts onregular basis in the parent cadre/

department OR;ii) With 5 year service in the graderendered after appointment theretoon a regular basis in the Scale of payof Rs. 8000-275-13500/- (RevisedPay Band is PB-3 of Rs.15600-39100/- + Grade Pay of Rs.6600/-)or equivalent in the parent cadre/

Department.b) Possessing educationalqualifications and experience asgiven below :i) Master's Degree in Zoology OrMarine Biology/Fisheries Science/Fisheries Management orOceanography from a recognizedUniversity or equivalent; ORPost Graduate Diploma in FisheriesScience of the Central Institute ofFisheries Education, Mumbai orequivalent; andii) Possessing 5 years experience insurveyor research of MarineFisheries including cruise planningand participation in voyages.Note: The departmental officers inthe feeder category who are in thedirect line of promotion shall not beeligible for consideration for

appointment on deputation. Similarly,deputationists shall not be eligible forconsideration for appointment bypromotion. The period of deputation(including short-term contract)including the period of deputation

(including short-term contract) inanother ex-cadre post heldimmediately preceding thisappointment in the same or someother Organization/Department of theCentral Government shall ordinarilynot exceed four years. The maximumage limit for appointment by transferon deputation (including short-termcontract) shall be not exceeding 56years as on the closing date ofreceipt of Applications. TheHeadquarters of the post is presentlyat Mumbai but the officer is liable tobe transferred to anywhere in India.Duties and Responsibilities inbrief:1. Participation in fishing cruises andresponsible for cruise leadership andcollection or requisite data duringsurvey cruises.2. Preparation of cruise reports andother reports related to the operation

of the survey vessels.3. Identification of fish and conductingthe biological investigations forqualitative and quantitativeassessment of fish stock in time andspace.The Applications in the proforma (induplicate) shall be submitted throughproper channel to the DirectorGeneral, Fishery Survey of India,Botawala Chambers, Sir P.M. A certificate tothe effect that no major or minorpenalty was imposed on the officerduring the last 10 years of his servicemay also be issued by the cadrecontrolling authority while forwardingthe Application.
