Under 6s on Show at Penrith Park The Round 5 NRL Penrith vs Cronulla match was the setting for the Emu Plains
JRLFC Under 6/1s when they took to Penrith Park against the Waratahs. The
boys had a ball. From waiting in the tunnel as the first grade players returned to
the sheds after warming up to playing on the big field to clapping Luke Lewis on
for his 200th game, the boys were in the thick of the action. As the year
progresses, keep your eye out for more Emus as they appear at Penrith games
for relays.
The classic photo above captured young Jett covering his eyes as those raunchy
cheerleaders took to the field. For online photos check out on.fb.me/under6s
Vale Steve Waddell
It is with great sadness that we write about the
passing of Steve Waddell earlier this month. Steve
was a local Penrith junior, originating from Lithgow
and playing his first-grade career with Penrith and
Illawarra. Our thoughts and condolences go out to
Steve's family, particularly his son Corey who plays
in our Under 16s team. May he forever be in your
hearts.
Best Wishes To Matt Richardson
The Emu Plains JRLFC wishes Matt all the best as he recovers from a broken
leg that he injured in a trial game last month. We hope you recover quickly so
you can return to the field as soon as possible.

Oscar and Tom on Freddy's Pass Off For those of you who regularly watch the Sunday Footy Show you will have
noticed Oscar Townes (U9/3s) and Tom Wallace (U12/1s) a couple of weeks ago
when Paul Gallen appeared on Freddy's Pass Off.
The boys had a great morning as they sat in the Green Room waiting to appear
on the show, got microphoned up and then met the great Andrew Johns, Brad
Fittler and Brian Fletcher. The boys then rushed around for a mad minute as
Gallen furiously threw the balls at the target.

Don't Miss A Night on the Fields Next Saturday 28th April is promising to
be a great night of family fun. Armstrong
Brown are set to play all your favourite
cover songs and there will be plenty of
glow sticks and food for everyone.
Make a night of it with your team and
bring your friends and family down to
celebrate the beginning of the season.
Nights like these raise much needed
funds for our club so be sure to show
your support by showing up and having a
good time.

Let's Look After Our House It is with regret that we report that the top canteen was vandalized this week. We
are a small club and rely on volunteers to run the club and look after our grounds
and resources. When vandalism occurs, the club has to either replace or repair
the damage and this in turn, affects our ability to purchase training equipment
and other resources.
Leonay Oval is our home ground and it is our responsibility as a community to
look after it. In the off-season, the top canteen was refurbished inside and out by
that committed crew of volunteers. It is a real shame to see that the less
intelligent members of society have already destroyed the hard work of honest
people.
If you know who is responsible for the damage or if you see anything at our ground that is suspicious please do not hesitate to contact our President Peter Foster on 0408 975 927 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
