Adding Intelligence to Visibility data Objectives: Be proactive based on reliable & complete information
6
A. Solve the “Black Box” effect • End-to-end logistics chains have multiple actors & synchronization points • Even in case of transshipments within mode, the link "container / transport means" gets lost B. Provide consistent data • There are many proprietary container-tracking mechanisms, each with its own interface • Multiple data sources sometimes provide contradictory or incomplete information • Reduce uncertainty + impact on operational costs & service quality
C. Be proactive • Calculate knock-on effects of process disruptions & delays • Accurately predict when shipments will arrive
The starting point for action is reliable information

Adding Intelligence to Visibility data Objectives: Make optimal use of transport resources
8
1. Bundled transport volumes towards horizontal collaboration
2. Deploy intermodal expertise for better usage of rails & barge transportation
3. Re-use of empty containers for avoiding transportation of 'empty' kilometers
4. Better balancing of the hinterland network
5. Less container moves and shorter dwell & waiting times
6. Modal split improvement towards sustainability
7. Competitive port positioning through more performant hinterland links
Stop thinking in isolated compartments

Testimonial: Adding intelligence to visibility data delivers ...
... full end-to-end visibility from place of loading till final delivery including all involved logistics partners and their connected sources [based on] consolidated real time & reliable data ... ... intelligent data consolidation from multiple external and internal sources, which needs to be standardized and interpreted - to reach reliable conclusions and create situational awareness ... ... raise standard services to enhanced levels in order to being able to deal with the special requirements and concerns of strategic customers ...
