MAY 19-20, SANCTUARY COVE, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Welcome to the 5th annual ASMEX conference. The purpose and focus for AIMEX & Superyacht Australia in organizing this conference is to provide delegates with an overview of the Australian Marine Industry and to provide our members and other key industry stakeholders in Australia with an update on what is happening in the global marine sector.

As a founding member of AIMEX and having been on the board since its inception, I am proud of the conference and its focus on identifying opportunities and ways in which to counteract challenges in what can be a turbulent marine export and superyacht industry.

This year’s conference programme has been designed to provide relevant, current information for delegates looking at present and future opportunities and what needs to be done to drive more business for Australian companies and how we can more effectively associate and interact with our international partners.

AIMEX and Superyacht Australia have organised influential, inspiring and experienced speakers from around the globe. The next two days will include excellent networking opportunities and exceptional social get-togethers in what is truly a conference by the industry, for the industry.

I look forward to meeting you during the conference and certainly hope you enjoy Sanctuary Cove and all it has to offer. The AIMEX board, our staff and I will be available during the conference and will be happy to chat regarding any AIMEX or Superyacht Australia activities or assist you in making those introductions that could open up business opportunities.

Sincerely,

RICHARD CHAPMAN President – Australian Marine Export Group

MAY 19-20, SANCTUARY COVE, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Welcome to Australia’s Gold Coast!

The City of Gold Coast is proud to be welcoming high calibre marine industry events, like the Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX), in the lead up to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The ASMEX Conference is a great opportunity for businesses to collaborate, network and learn more about the current state of the industry, including opportunities which may be available.

The Gold Coast is a fitting location for the ASMEX Conference as we are one of Australia’s premier locations for the marine industry. As a coastal city, the Gold Coast is blessed with great weather, long, sandy beaches, great surf breaks and some of the most picturesque waterways in the country.

The Gold Coast is also ‘open for business,’ home to a multi-million dollar marine industry. Despite experiencing some hard times in recent years, the marine industry is resilient and the Gold Coast is proof of that.

The city’s natural and strategic advantages are further strengthened by our world-class marine precincts, including the Gold Coast Marine Precinct located along the Coomera River that houses the most advanced and highly respected marine industry cluster in the Southern Hemisphere. Our marine experts are driving innovation and advancements within the industry, making our builders some of the best in the world.

We have nine luxury marinas in the city, including berthing facilities for yachts of up to 65 metres in length, along with a comprehensive range of boating services, such as provisioning, refuelling and sewerage pump out facilities. Within these luxury marinas, world-class restaurants, internationally renowned retail stores and fashion houses complement the existing marine facilities. Visitors to these marinas are also just a short ride to the city’s famous entertainment precinct.

The City works extremely hard to support and attract future developments in the marine industry. If you’re looking to do business in the city, get in touch with one of our officers who can assist with the appropriate programs and assistance which may be available.

I wish the ASMEX Conference organisers and visitors all the best for this year’s event and hope you enjoy your visit here on the Gold Coast.

The NØRDICAL brand’s humble beginnings came about as a result of a summer romance with a beautiful Norwegian girl whose name I couldn’t pronounce, time spent on the West Coast of Norway, an addiction to Swedish tobacco and a lot of late nights mulling over the brand. The result, a fresh and vibrant lifestyle brand encompassing the carefree way of Scandinavian living. The contrasting inspiration of both Australian and Nordic style not only embellishes quality and sophistication but also ruggedness and sturdiness. Products that hold their own both functionally and aesthetically, from social environments to the roughest of seas. The Vikings were considered strong, audacious seafarers who feared no ocean nor competitor. It is hoped that this Viking spirit is embodied in NØRDICAL trunks and anyone who dons a pair.
