DISAB Centurion: High PerformanceWet/Dry Materials Handling Unit

Applications:

• Sludge and primary tank cleaning

• Detention tank cleaning

• Grit detritor cleaning

• Deep wet well cleaning

• Activated sludge lane cleaning

• Anaerobic digestion plant cleaning

• Large culvert cleaning

DISAB Centurion:

• High performance vacuum tanker that will

vacuum dry or wet material

• The DISAB can vacuum material from

200m away and from a tank that is up

to 100m deep

• High tip directly into a skip

• Dry material can be placed in bulk bags

using the bagging facility at the rear

• A Disab can empty a tank containing grit,

screenings and sludge far quicker than a

conventional JetVac.

DISAB Centurion

The D:MAX is a mobile screening & classification

system which efficiently removes grit, screenings and

other troublesome solids from your waste stream.

A specialist plant that is used in tank cleaning projects

to screen and dewater material from sludge holding

tanks, primary tanks, digesters, storm detention tanks,

pumping stations and culverts.

It is mounted on a low loader trailer and transported to

site by a tractor unit for temporary deployment.

The mobile screening and dewatering process:

1. Remove wet material from the tank using the DISAB.

2. The DISAB is connected to the mobile screening plant and

transfers material directly into the mobile screening plant.

3. The material is screened and the dry material is separated

into grit and screenings which is deposited into two

separate skips.

4. The screened effluent is pumped into the site drainage or

site process.

The mobile screening unit will:

• Reduce the volume of the waste for offsite disposal by

up to 90%

• Screen and dewater the waste onsite

Mobile Screening and Dewatering Plant

How does it work?

First Stage

The wet material is delivered to the Mobile Screening and

Dewatering Plant and fed directly onto the primary course

vibrating screen where the screenings are removed. This

dry material is discharged into a skip at the end of the

primary screen.

Second Stage

The wet material passes through the course screen drops into

a hopper and is pumped from the hopper to a hydro-cyclone.

The grit size particles are separated from the liquid by

centrifugal force and dropped onto the final vibrating screen

for final dewatering and are discharged into a skip at the end

of the final screen.

Third Stage

The screened wastewater is pumped from the hydro-cyclone

into the customer’s site drainage or site process.

The operation is continuous and the pumps and screens are

electrically driven by a 200 KVA generator that is fitted to the

front of the low loader chassis.

Kaiser Whale sewer cleaning recycler.

Kaiser Whale:

Sewer Cleaning Water Recycler

Applications:

• Sewer Cleaning

• Culvert Cleaning

• Highway Drainage Cleaning

• Root Cutting

• Large Diameter Pipe Cleaning

Kaiser Whale:

• Jets at 410 Litres Per Minute up to 200 Bar

and 200m of jetting hose

• Vacuums to depths of around 20m deep

• Water Reuse through on board recycling

• The recycler can work continuously as the

water removed by the vacuum hose from

the sewer is filtered in the recycler’s debris

tank and pumped back through the jetting

hose. This is compared to a JetVac that

has to spend many hours a day filling up

it’s jetting tank with mains water

The problemThe highway drains were overflowing during periods of

significant rainfall, causing localised flooding and the

public footpaths and verges that the highway drains ran

underneath were due to be replaced.

The solutionA length of 3400m of mainly 150mm diameter highway

carrier drain and associated road gullies and lateral

connections were cleaned and surveyed using an

Andidrain sewer cleaning recycler and CCTV Unit.

The CCTV surveys identified some lengths of the carrier

drain as being in poor structural condition and some

lengths having root ingress.

Root masses were cut and removed using a warthog

and flail, followed by a complete clean of the system.

To prevent root regrowth and further deterioration in

the condition of the pipe, defective sections were lined

using our UV (Ultra Violet) Pipe Lining rig, with lateral

connections reopened using our remotely controlled

robotic cutters.

“Over the last 5 years I have found Andidrain to

be a reliable and flexible and easy to do

business with. They have adapted to the ever

changing demands in the industry and provide

a quality service whilst always looking for

improvements and efficiencies.”

The problemThe pumps in a large 16m wide and 20m deep inlet

pumping station at a wastewater treatment works were

frequently blocking due to the volume of silt and

screenings in the wet well.

The solutionThe thick layer of sludge, screenings and silt in the wet

well was first removed using a DISAB vacuum tanker

working from the top only.

As the levels of sludge, screenings and silt in the tank

decreased a safe working area was cleared in the tank.

Once the tank was deemed to be safe to enter after gas

testing, two confined space trained operators were

lowered into the wet well using a man riding basket and

mobile crane. A further mobile crane and man riding

basket was on standby at all times.

When the operators were safely on the base of the well,

the remaining material was broken up using the

JetVac’s jetting hose and removed using the DISAB’s

vacuum hose.

The material removed from the well was screened

using the mobile Screening and Dewatering Plant and

the screened water was pumped back into the site

drainage. The silt and debris was deposited into an

eight yard builders skip for disposal offsite using our

skip vehicle.

“I have worked with Andidrain on the

Industrial Cleaning contract for 4 years.

I have always found Andidrain to be

professional and reliable and their

team have an extensive knowledge of

industrial services work in the water

industry. They are able to undertake

large complex tank cleaning projects

and approach any work with a can

do attitude.”

Mobile Screening and Dewatering

Plant and JetVac.

Mobile Screening and Dewatering Plant.

The problemThe mixers in a customer’s Anaerobic Digester had

stopped working due to the volume of solids that had

built up in the tank and also the customer needed to

repair several small holes in the tank. To repair the

mixers and the holes in the tank the tank needed to be

emptied and cleaned.

The solutionThe material in the Anaerobic Digester was broken up

using a fire hose connected to a wash out onsite and

then vacuumed out of the tank using one of our

DISAB Centurions.

The wet material was then blown from the Disab into

our mobile screening and dewatering plant which

processed the material and deposited the dry material

into a commercial bin at the rear of our mobile

screening and dewatering plant. The customer removed

the commercial bin using a forklift and tipped the dry

material into their dry waste bays onsite for disposal.

Our mobile screening and dewatering plant pumped the

screened wastewater back into the customer’s process.

Once the tank had been emptied it was given a final

clean using the fire hose connected to a wash out.

Completion of the WorksIn a period of ten days we removed, screened and

dewatered 900 tons of material from the Anaerobic

Digester to enable the customer to repair the AD Plant.

UV Pipe Lining:

• Based on the ProKasro Ultra Violet (UV)

cured in place pipe technology, the Andidrain

Lining Division are able to carry out

trenchless pipe rehabilitation in a fraction of

the time of conventional pipe lining methods

using water or steam

• The pipe liner is made of fibre glass and is

impregnated in the factory with a liquid resin

• The pipe liner is installed by winching the

liner into place using a downstream and

upstream manhole. Once in place the liner is

inflated by air and a UV light train is pulled at

a pre-determined speed through the lining

which cures the liner in place

• Lateral connections are logged during the

pre-lining CCTV survey and post lining are

reopened using our robotic cutter.

Applications:

• Pipes diameters from 150mm to over

1600mm can be lined

• The full pipe length can be lined manhole

to manhole or a small section of the pipe

length can be lined (patch lining)

• Structural liner to prevent further

deterioration of the pipe

• To prevent root regrowth after root cutting

• Pipe lining to stop ground water infiltration

or exfiltration (leaking pipe)

• To improve flow characteristics to prevent

operational problems such as repeat

blockages
