Governments have a common objective, that is to reduce unemployment.
As a result, they are keeping a close eyes on the employment trends.
What are employment trends?
Labor force

Employment status

Labour force
Total number of people of working age in work or actively seeking work.
Labour force participation rate
The ratio of the labour force over the total population
It represents the total supply of the labour
People who are not part of labour force include:
Students
Retired people
Stay-at-home parents

Amount of people employed by the industrial sector
Different in different countries
A little bit of example…
In the US, agriculture empolyed just 3.7% of the empolyees in 2005
While in South Asia or sub-Saharan Africa, agriculture employs up to 60% of the employees.
