Employees Featured as Eversource Hartford Marathon
Campaign Launches
To help ensure another big success for this year's Eversource Hartford Marathon,
which benefits communities, charitable organizations and the state of Connecticut,
Eversource has launched its annual marketing campaign for the event. You may have
seen some familiar faces already on Connecticut's most popular broadcast channels
and social media sites. Similar to last year, this year's TV spot features many
employees from across all three states. View the TV spot here! And thanks to the
many employees who have already signed up to run or volunteer, employee response
to date has been terrific, but there's always room for more. If you're interested in running contact Ana Alfaro at
860-665-2454, and to volunteer, go here. Only four more weeks to go!
Northern Pass Siting Process Continues with Technical Sessions
This week, the state siting approval process for the proposed Northern Pass transmission project continued in
Concord as the New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee (SEC) began Technical Sessions as part of its project
review. These sessions are an informal opportunity for the parties involved in Northern Pass’ state review process
to ask questions of project experts. The technical sessions, which will cover such issues as Northern Pass’ impact on
the regional grid, public health and safety, and the environment, are expected to continue throughout September.

Did You Know
Distracted driving is serious hazard. Studies have shown that, when it comes to safely maneuvering a vehicle,
texting and talking on a cell phone while driving may impair the ability of a driver as significantly as if the driver
were operating “under the influence” of alcohol. And cell phones are only one of many distractions facing today’s
drivers. Consider these tips to avoid distracted driving from AAA.

Eversource Continues Expansion of Natural Gas Mains
Eversource has begun work in Ansonia and
Groton to expand its natural gas distribution
system and allow customers to take advantage of
the benefits of natural gas.
In Groton, Eversource is investing $5.1 million to
install nearly five miles of natural gas main (26,000
feet) and give nearly 1,300 residents the
opportunity to use the clean-burning, affordable
fuel. In Ansonia, Eversource is investing $2.3
million to install more than four miles of main
(22,500 feet). Nearly 6,000 Ansonia residents will
have the option to choose natural gas. Both
projects are expected to be completed in
November.
“This is exciting news as we continue to make
natural gas available to more communities across Connecticut,” said William Akley, President of Gas Operations
for Eversource. “We’re thrilled to be able to provide more people access to this efficient and environmentally-
friendly fuel to heat their homes or businesses.”
Eversource will regularly update community leaders and customers where work is being done to minimize the
impact to traffic and coordinate with other roadwork happening in the area. For more information on making the
switch to natural gas, as well as Eversource’s expansion efforts, visit Eversource.com or call 1-855-645-2427. To
make converting to natural gas easier and more cost effective, the company is offering several incentives. To learn

Test Driving an Electric Vehicle is “A Lot of Fun”
Shirley Mackay in Customer Relations said it was “a lot of fun” road testing the
BMW 330e hybrid and the all-electric BMW i3 in Westwood yesterday. She
especially liked the navigation system in the 330e, which showed your location
and other details right under the windshield.
According to “Charge the
Workday” Tour Manager
Caitlin Kwan, the all-electric
i3 uses strong yet
lightweight Carbon Fiber
Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) for
the lightweight shell, which
sits on top of an aluminum
sub-frame. The vehicle can
go up to 150 miles per full
charge (which takes 3 hours at a charger station) depending
on your driving habits. Another BMW Drive & Ride event will
be held in Berlin, Connecticut, next Monday, September 12.
(See “Connecticut News” above for details.) If you have any
questions, please contact BMW at [email protected]. Vehicle purchase incentives are also available. See the flyer
for details.

Printer Upgrade Continues in New Hampshire
The Canon printer upgrade continues next week in Manchester, Hooksett, Derry and Bedford with the introduction
of badge-enabled Canon multi-function devices (MFDs) that copy, print, scan and fax. Most of these new machines
will be badge-enabled. You may either use your badge or log in manually. The benefit is that you will be able to use
any badge-enabled device to print, copy, or scan your materials at any location. MFD printers have also been
installed in Berlin and Eastern Massachusetts locations.
Before you begin using the new badge-reading Canon MFD, you will need to complete a one-time
registration at any badge-reading Canon MFD. Learn more here.
Please have a department representative available to get hands-on instruction when the new MFDs are
being installed.
Click here for a Q&A about the Canon MFDs.
Be sure to print any documents in your mailbox before the new printers are installed as they will not
transfer to the new printers.
Requests for toner, service and support for Canon MFDs should be directed to the IT Support Center by
submitting a ticket through the ITSC website.
Employees ‘Connect’ with Congresswoman Kuster
U.S. Congresswoman Annie Kuster (D- New Hampshire)
spoke to a crowd of EversourcePAC members and
employees at Energy Park last Thursday as part of the
“Connecting with Congress” series, sponsored by
EversourcePAC—the company’s federal political action
committee. Kuster, who represents the 2nd Congressional
District, discussed topics ranging from New England’s
energy supply challenges to a bi-partisan effort to address
the opioid crisis that is impacting many areas of the
country. Following her remarks, the Congresswoman took
questions from the audience. If you have questions about
“Connecting with Congress” or ideas for future events,
please email Sheri Lauten or call her at 202-508-0904.
September Bill Insert: Disclosure Label
This month, New Hampshire customers are receiving the annual “Disclosure
Label” bill insert, which discloses all Eversource energy sources in the state and
their environmental characteristics, such as carbon dioxide emissions. The
disclosure, which was made law by the New Hampshire Legislature in 2010,
includes definitions, charts, and comparisons with all New England power
sources. The label is also posted on eversource.com for customer reference.
