THIS WEEKat Southern State Community College

Week of Sept. 27, 2010EMPLOYEE NEWSLETTER

Beginning Sept. 27, Southern State Community College students will be invited via email to volun-tarily participate in a survey that asks them questions about their media preferences and what they like to do with their time.

Questions like What is your favorite radio station? What information do you look for in the newspaper? and How often do you go to the movies? are included in the survey.

As you know, these types of questions can provide critical information for marketing our col-lege and our programs in a more cost-effective manner.

And, they can help target recruitment efforts for academic programs.

If you recall, a survey was conducted in the spring and fall

of 2008 and during fall 2009 regarding our students’ media and lifestyle preferences.

This fall will mark the fourth and final survey to be completed.

In order to receive an accurate sample of information, it is necessary for all four surveys to be conducted.

The more students who par-ticipate, the better information we will receive.

The survey is voluntary, anony-mous, and takes between 25-30 minutes, depending upon internet connectivity and the participant’s computer skills.

At the end of the survey, stu-dents can enter a drawing to win an iTouch or an Amazon Store gift certificate.
