Rejectionregion
0.0250.025

p̄=0.87(sample proportion) q̄=0.13(sample proportion)
ó=| (pHₒ)( qHₒ )/n =|(0.8)(0.2)/40=0.0632
ó=0.0632
z= p̄- pHₒ ----------=0.87-0.8/
0.0632=1.107 ó z=1.107
Acceptance region
Rejectionregion
0.0250.025
1.96-1.96
Rejectionregion
z=1.107 Falls into the acceptance region so we accept our null hypothesis
HYPOTHESIS TESTING(STATISTICAL TOOLS)
Hₒ: achievable long term incentives motivate employees
Ⱨᵢ: achievable long term incentives don’t motivate employees
pHₒ=0.8 (judged proportion) qHₒ=0.2 n=40(sample size) α=0.05(level of significance for
testing hypothesis) p̄=0.58(sample proportion) q̄=0.42(sample proportion)
_______ ________ ó=| (pHₒ)( qHₒ )/n
=|(0.8)(0.2)/40=0.0632 ó=0.0632 z= p̄- pHₒ ----------=0.58-0.8/ 0.0632=-3.48 ó z= -3.48
Acceptance region
Rejectionregion
0.0250.025
1.96-1.96
Rejectionregion
z=-3.48 Falls into the rejection region so we reject our null hypothesis and accept the alternative hypothesis i.e. achievable long term incentives don’t motivate employees
CONCLUSIONS Communication was found to be a contributing factor in motivating employees, and a company with effective communication will help make employees feel more involved and appreciated.
If employees have a greater respect for their company and are satisfied with the way information is relayed to them, they will be more motivated in the workplace and their work will improve as a result
CONCLUSIONS Employees rely more on short term
employees
Opportunities of promotion motivate employees
Achievable Opportunities for promotion increase employee motivation.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Increase the possibility of employee promotion in the company by promoting from within rather than hiring from the outside
Put effort into ensuring that employees are properly credited and receive recognition for the good work they do in their respective positions.
Long term incentives do not motivate employees that much so the short term incentives are more effective managers should focus on this point for achieving organizational objectives.
