Colour - Bright colours have been used which helps to draw in the audience whilst at the same time gives more of a comic book effect, such that Iron man is. Audience - From first glance at this front cover it is immediately clear that it is aimed at a more mass market and mainstream audience, as it follows the typical conventions of what you see on a lot of film advertisment Price - The price is relatively small and doesn’t show up that well next to the bold title. This could have been done to prevent people from stopping buying the issue and instead just buying it anyway. Dominating Picture - This is a picture of Iron MAn and as he is such a well known character consumers will be drawn in regardless of what it’s about purely because of the fact that its Iron Man. This is why the publishers may have blown up the image so half of the suit takes up almost the entire front page. Masthead - The title ‘Empire’ has been put in a bright neon blue font to accompany the blue on the suit. This shows that they will change colours and other factors to draw in audiences and make it most effective and attractive. Title - The title of the film ‘Iron Man 2’ follows the typical conventions of most film magazine front covers, being bold and in the middle - bottom of the page to stand out to the audience and immediately let them Slogan - The slogan is in a bright blue colour (still matching the colour theme) but stands out to the audience and is used by the publishers as a way of promoting and encouraging purchases of their magazine over over film magazines. Extras - THe extras part at the bottom of the cover uses ‘PLUS!’ to stand out to the audience and promote what else the magazine includes.
