TRANSCRIPT
EQ is measuring individual’s capacity for successes.
E intelligence only describes attributes that are distinct from, but at the same time complimentary to academic / cognitive intelligence.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EQ & EI.
EQ Can predict whether a person would be successful in life or in his work.
EI Is some thing that can be consciously learnt, imbibed and improved through self observance, introspection and experience.
EQ level is not fixed genetically nor does it stays static.
“Emotional intelligence” refers to the capacity for recognizing ones own feelings and those of others, for managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships”
According to Mayer and Salovey:
“Emotional intelligence allows us to think more creatively and to use our emotions to solve problems. Emotional intelligence probably overlaps to some extent with general intelligence. The emotionally intelligent is skilled in four areas: Identifying emotions, using emotions, understanding emotions, and regulating emotions”
According to Robert Cooper and Ayman Sawaf
“Emotional intelligence is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions as a source of human energy, information and influence. Emotional intelligence emergence not from the musings of rarefied intellect but from the workings of the human heart”
