When complete, emonocot will:
• Enable the identification of monocot plants anywhere in the world
• Provide a wealth of information about monocot species, genera and families
• Address separately the needs of different users
4. Link together monocot taxonomists to enhance their productivity
• Provide a model for web taxonomy

eMonocot eTaxonomy workshop bursariesThe project has funding to support ca five international workshops in partnership with monocot taxonomists worldwide.
Each workshop will:
• Support groups of specialists in using emonocot as a platform
• Enable monocot taxonomic communities to • share research results• deliver information on monocots• mentor others to do the same
3. Include training in the use of the emonocot system
Workshop 1: Chicago, September 2011 with the Carex community.
See e-monocot.org for a call for proposals in the near future
