Stored DTCs can be r ead by connecting the DRBscan tool (or an equivalent scan tool) to the 16way
data link connector.
NOTE: For a list of DTCs, refer to the charts in thissection. For complete diagnosis of the DTCs, referto the 1998 TJ Powertrain Diagnostic Manual. Vehi-
cles equipped to run on leaded fuel do not use oxy-gen sensors.
OBTAINING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
WARNING: APPLY PARKING BRAKE AND/ORBLOCK WHEELS BEFORE PERFORMING ANY TESTON AN OPERATING ENGINE.
(1) Connect the DRB scan tool to data l ink (diag-
nostic) conn ector.
(2) Turn the ignition switch on, a ccess Read Fau lt
Screen. Record all th e DTCs shown on the DRB scan
tool.

data screen on the DRB scan tool.
