Onsite Solar – the Business Models 8
CAPEX OPEX (Leasing or Power Purchase Agreement)
Customer makes the acquisition of the system Customer enters into a long-term agreement with the solar provider (typically 15 to 25 years)
He appoints an EPC contractor to design, build and deliver the system
The solar provider will finance, design, deploy and manage the solar system
He then appoints a contractor (same or different) to carry out Operation & Maintenance
Typically monthly payments are based on the system performance/energy output
Most costs and risks are in the scope of the provider
Cleantech Solar – Strictly Private and Confidential
Onsite Solar – Feedback from our Customers 9
Key drivers in OPEX and CAPEX decision model
Strategic Focus Considerations Risks Speed of Execution
Core vs non-core Project execution risk Decision processes without CAPEX are often faster
Allocation of resources during procurement stage
Solar system performance No need to mobilize an internal project team
Allocation of resources during O&M phase
Uncontrollable aspects (example haze in NCR)
Repeatability across countries

Why Sustainable Business 12
International standards
today
Legal Standards
Following local laws, gives business a relatively large space to operatein
Corporate Image & Identity:MNC’s want to be the leader of adopting best practices –large corporates to follow
Best Practice Today
More demanding
legal standards by 2030
Large corporates MNCs approach and higher levels of control & performance i.e. a constricted operating space
More Demanding Legal Standards in near future as Global Warming becomes an alarming concern and agenda to the world. Businesses will have to perform better than ever.
In the near future, only the best managed
business, with highest performance will be able
to survive

• Maximum capacity of the PV system installed for C&I consumers:a) 1MWp or 75% of maximum demand of the consumer’s current installation (for current transformer metering),
whichever is lower;
i. based on past 1 yearr ave of the recorded maximum demand of the consumer’s installation;ii. the declared maximum demand for consumers with less than 1 year;
b) 60% of fuse rating (for direct meter) or 60% of current transformer (CT) rating for low voltage consumers.
• Net export capacity for connection to the distribution system shall be not less than 1kWp and not more than 1MWp rating measured at the connection point, and net export capacity at the Connection Point shall not exceed 75% of the maximum demand of the energy metering consumer.

19Mounting Examples 19
Adapted features to meet customers needs
Additional load imposed by the introduction of the PV system will be around 15kg/m² for metal roof and 20kg/m² for concrete roof
A compatible PV mounting system will be selected after the pre-construction survey
Common roof types are: ▪ Metal roof- standing seam (e.g. KlipLok)- non-standing seam
▪ Concrete roof

20Floating PV – at Grid Parity 20
• Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) is running a 1 MWp test-bed at a fresh water
reservoir in Singapore;
• Several types of floating solutions being tested in 100 kWp setups;
• System to be expanded to up to 5 MWp in a Phase 2;• http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/floating-solar-cell-test-bed-is-worlds-largest

21Additional Benefit: Reduce Heat Gain 21
Cooler roof due to shading:
▪ Reduction of temperature▪ Additional insulating air barrier between the
solar modules and the roof
Cleantech Solar – Strictly Private and Confidential
22Rooftop PV from the Onset – Solar-ready Building 22
1• More and more companies embed rooftop PV in their plans
2• They aim for their building to be “future-proof”
3• They still want to benefit from a 3rd-party funded solution
The Kuehne + Nagel Singapore teammade sure the building was “solar-ready” & “solar-as-a-service” is theideal extension to the logistics hubwhich was built according to highestenvironmental standards.
1• Roofing contractor to acknowledge prior to being awarded
2• LV Distribution Board to factor in Solar
3• Risers/cable runs to factor in Solar cabling
4• Where possible, shading risk to be avoided
5• Industry-standard, standing seam roofing solutions to be preferred

23Importance of O&M Best Practices 23
Preventive Maintenance:Periodic tests and inspections to ensure components and PV system are operating at optimum/safe functionality
Reactive Maintenance:Unexpected repair of PV system which is associated with the loss of energy generation
Predictive Maintenance:Analytical monitoring of “big data” to allow proper assessment of PV system past, present, and future behaviour
Cleaning:Optimally determined periodic washing of PV modules which increases performances by reducing soiling
Monitoring Our experts team and optimal O&M process dedicated to ensure high uptime
