Specifications for Vee-Ball Valves and Noise Attenuator (continued)ENVIRO-SEAL Packing

This optional packing system provides improvedsealing, guiding, and transmission of loading forceto control liquid and gas emissions.

Options Alloy construction materials, and other commonvalve parts are available upon request,

Materials that comply with NACE MR0175-2002for sour service. Refer to Bulletin 51.3:Vee-Ball, orcontact your Emerson Process Managementsales office

1. The pressure/temperature limits in this bulletin, and any applicable code or standard limitation, should not be exceeded.

Features Trim Versatility—Trim components are

interchangeable for Fisher V150, V200, and V300valves. This feature allows you to reduce your spareparts inventory and maintenance procedures.

Attenuator-Ball Fabrication—Theball-attenuator construction provides structuralintegrity because of its rugged fabrication weld.

Attenuator Performance—Up to 10 dBAacoustical attenuation, and a Kc=1.0 forhydrodynamics are achievable depending on serviceconditions.

Application Versatility—The Vee-Ball valvesare available as standard with ISA S75.04face-to-face dimensions as well as ASMEB16.10-short face-to-face dimensions for CL150valves. IEC 60534-3-2 face-to-face dimensions arealso available (60534-3-2 face-to-face dimensionsare equivalent to S75.04 face-to-face dimensions).

Long Service Life—Solid HD metal sealconstruction (figure 2) provides long service life indemanding applications. The constant wiping actionof the seal across the ball’s sealing surface preventsscale and sludge buildup, and provides excellentservice on steam, gases, slurries, and various liquidapplications.

Excellent Flow Characteristic—Precisecontouring of the V-notch ball provides anapproximately equal percentage flow characteristic.

Sour Service Capability—Optional materialsare available that comply with NACE MR0175-2002.

Improved Environmental Capabilities—Theoptional ENVIRO-SEAL packing system is designedwith very smooth stem surfaces and live-loadingprovides improved sealing, guiding, and loadingforce transmission. The seal of the ENVIRO-SEALsystem can control emissions to below the EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) limit of 100 ppm(parts per million) for valves.

Quick and Easy Maintenance—The Vee-Ballvalve ball seals can be inspected simply byremoving two screws on the valve body inlet. Thereis no need to remove the actuator or disassemblethe valve. No special tools are required for valvemaintenance procedures, such as removing thepacking, ball seal, and shafts.

Other Considerations

When a rotary noise attenuator is installed in aVee-Ball valve, the V-notch is no longer a point ofhigh-velocity erosion. As a result, the CoCr-AV-notch option is not required when a rotary noiseattenuator is used. The rotary attenuator and CoCr-AV-notch options are not available together.
