Carlos F. Ortiz is a seasoned trial lawyer with significant white collar defense and investigations experience. In October 2012, Ms. Wagner re-joined Ryder as the vice president, global products-insurance and risk management leading a team of over 70 insurance and risk management professionals in the procurement of insurance, handling of liability and Workers’ Compensation claims and the extension of the Company’s lease and rental insurance pro-grams. Her team is responsible for the identification and development of risk management programs and strategies to effectively protect the Company’s assets and revenues from loss. This is accomplished through the identification of loss exposures and the implementation of efficient and economical risk retention, risk transfer and risk control techniques.

Prior to re-joining Ryder, Ms. Wagner served as vice president of finance and investor relations (20011 – 2012) at Brightstar Corp. where she was part of the senior leadership team responsible for readying the company for an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Prior to Brightstar, Ms. Wagner held the position of senior vice president of global communi-cations and investor relations (2006 – 2011) at Burger King Corp. where she played an integral role in the company’s IPO and multiple secondary offerings. In addition to her investor relations responsibilities, Ms. Wagner oversaw all global public relations, franchisee relations, consumer relations, events planning and employee communications for the company. Prior to Burger King, Ms. Wagner spent 16 years at Ryder where she held positions of increas-ing responsibility including senior financial analyst in supply chain finance, financial consultant in compensation, manager of supply chain pricing and planning, senior manager of international finance, director of planning, group director of investor relations, and vice president of risk management.
