BUILDING THE BENCH PANELISTS
Senator Linda Greenstein is the first woman to represent the 14thLegislative District in the Senate, which includes Cranbury,Jamesburg, Monroe, Plainsboro and Spotswood in MiddlesexCounty and East Windsor, Hamilton, Hightstown and Robbinsville inMercer County. She was elected to the New Jersey Senate in aNovember 2010 special election and then was reelected for her firstfull term in 2011 and her second full Senate term in 2013.
Senator Nellie Pou was elected to the State Senate in 2011 and re-electedin 2013. She served in the Assembly from January 29th, 1997, when shewas sworn to fill a vacancy until her rise to the State Senate. Since in office,Senator Pou has navigated many of her prime-sponsored legislations intolaw in the areas of civil rights, consumer affairs, economy and jobs,education, environment, health, housing, children and families, veteransaffairs, and that benefit non-profit organizations that serve to empower ourcommunity.
Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt has represented New Jersey’s6th Legislative District since 2006. She is New Jersey's leadingchampion of equal pay for women, and she has sponsored alandmark package of legislation to enact pay equity in New Jersey.Assemblywoman Lampitt also authored New Jersey's law preventingworkplace discrimination against pregnant women. In the currentlegislative session, Assemblywoman Lampitt has been at the forefrontof championing earned sick time for New Jersey workers, sponsoringstatewide legislation that would expand earned sick time to all of NewJersey’s nearly 9 million residents.
Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver initially took the oath of office asNew Jersey’s 169th Assembly Speaker on January 12. 2010. Shewas sworn to a second term on January 10, 2012. Speaker Oliver isthe first African-American woman to lead a legislative house in NewJersey. She is also just the second African-American woman inAmerican history to lead a legislative house, following Karen R. Bassof California, who currently serves in the U.S. Congress.

Sonia Delgado is a Partner at Princeton Public Affairs Group.She has over twenty years of experience in the analysis andmanagement of legislative and regulatory issues in publicsector, corporate and healthcare settings. A recipient of theWomen’s Political Caucus Woman of Achievement awardand the NJ Biz Best 50 Women in Business award, Sonia hasbeen acknowledged for her work and community service bythe YWCA of Trenton and the Hispanic Bar Association.
Lillian A. Plata, Esq. is from Irvington, New Jersey and is currently aGeneral Partner at the law firm of McManimon, Scotland & Baumann,L.L.C. Lillian specializes in the area of tax and structured finance. Priorto joining McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC, Lillian practiced taxand structured finance in the Global Infrastructure Department atFulbright & Jaworski, LLP in New York. In 2015, Lillian received theEngagement Award from Leadership Newark and the Lawyers’ Awardfrom the Tri-County Scholarship Fund. She also received the NorthernJersey Boy Scouts Council 2014 Latino Leadership Award.
Ginger Gold Schnitzer is the Director of GovernmentRelations for the New Jersey Education Association. Sheis responsible for promoting legislation and regulationswhich advance public education and public employment.She also directs NJEA’s efforts in electing NJEA PAC-
endorsed candidates to public office. Schnitzer waselected three times to the Plainsboro TownshipCommittee and served on that body from March of 2000until October 2008.
Dawn Zimmer became the first female Mayor of Hobokenin 2009. Prior to that, she served as a Councilwoman afterbecoming involved in civic life as an advocate for parkspace. As Mayor, her priorities include restoring fiscalresponsibility and improving quality of life for residents.Since taking office, she has steadily reduced andstabilized taxes and established a responsible cashsurplus for the first time in many years.
