Emergency Shelter Supports Survivors of Domestic Violence By His Hands Church

Introduction• His Hands Church is a nondenominational community that

believes in expressing and demonstrating God’s love to all people. To help achieve its mission, His Hands Church partners with organizations that provide support to people in crisis, such as the Cherokee Family Violence Center (CFVC).

Located in Canton, Georgia, CFVC provides a comprehensive set of free services for individuals who have suffered domestic violence. CFVC offers a safe, secure emergency shelter for individuals who are fleeing domestic violence, along with their children who are under the age of 17. Upon admission to the shelter, individuals meet with staff members to receive details about security policies and review intake paperwork.

Survivors of Domestic Violence• Each resident has an assigned bed or room, along with

personal lockers to secure belongings. During their stay at the shelter, residents can receive case management, financial advocacy, low-cost medical services, and other valuable resources to help them establish a stronger future without threats of violence.
