    Copy each card on pages 3 and 4 on cardstock and laminate. Cut each of the cardsout.

    After reading one of the suggested books, talk about the meaning of an emergencyand not an emergency. Discuss questions such asWhen should we tell the teacher?

    What does it mean to tattle?Is it tattling if someone is hurt?What is bullying?

    Using a pocket chart, have the students help you sort the cards under either

    emergency or not an emergency.

    After discussing emergency or not emergency, talk about some of the most commonnot emergencies. Sometimes fighting or arguing is something that comes up a lot inclassrooms. Hel[p the understand the difference between an argument and bullying

    Teach the students the No Fighting Chant using actions and have them fill outthe words on their own sheet.
