Emergency Medical Science Pathway Associated in Applied Science A45340 Paramedic to Associate Degree Bridge A45340B Program Overview The Emergency Medical Science curriculum provides individuals with the knowledge, skills and attributes to provide advanced emergency medical care as a paramedic for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system and prepares graduates to enter the workforce. Students will gain complex knowledge, competency, and experience while employing evidence based practice under medical oversight, and serve as a link from the scene into the healthcare system. Graduates of this program may be eligible to take state and/or national certification examinations. Employment opportunities include providers of emergency medical services, fire departments, rescue agencies, hospital specialty areas, industry, educational and government agencies. Step 6: For Bridge program applicants, submit the following documentation to the EMS program head: 1. Letter of recommendation from your EMS director confirming you are member in good standing with the EMS service and 1,000+ hours of documented patient care at the Paramedic level. 2. Emergency Medical Science Pathway

EMS Courses are offered during specific semesters and must be taken in exact sequence. The Associated in Applied Science—Paramedic to Associate Degree Bridge is for currently credentialed paramedics who want to earn

their Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science.

The program head and/or an advisor will assist with planning individual course sequence.
