CLOUD TRANSFORMS IT

Historically, IT has driven greater business efficiency by taking tasks

done by many people and doing it better with fewer resources. To achieve

this, IT often deployed packaged applications on a dedicated

infrastructure.

Today, Cloud is revolutionizing the IT process by making it possible to run

IT As-A-Service to drive maximum efficiency. By deploying a pool of

elastic resources, IT is dramatically reducing hardware costs and making it

simple to provision and move applications.

Private Cloud is the place for IT to start because it is owned and operated

by your organization and it works using the same principles as Public

Cloud: its simple, elastic, and drives self-service.

Service Providers create new options for IT. While most people think of

the large providers of Commodity Infrastructure-As-A-Service, there is a

growing set of specialized service providers. These providers will deliver

highly specialized services for a particular industry, geography or

application. Their cloud will be the specialized requirements built-in. One

example is New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) who is building

Infrastructure-As-A-Service (IaaS) and Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS) for

the Financial Services industry with the scalability, availability andcompliance for Financial Services built-in.

IT needs a hybrid cloud this approach combines what you do best with

what service providers can do better, while keeping IT in control.

By leveraging an automated hybrid cloud infrastructure, you can virtualize

your mission critical applications, move your existing applications onto

virtual infrastructure without disruption, and deliver greater efficiency and

agility.

The way end users access applications is also changing. As users bring

new devices to the workplace, they expect to operate them using both

personal and enterprise resources. IT must provide a new end user

insight.To harness Big Data, organizations need to embrace Data Science. The

Data Science team must have frictionless collaboration. This Facebook-

style social collaboration creates an ideal environment for you to share

and browse data sets, post research updates, follow team members and

view their updates as part of your feed.

Cloud infrastructure and social collaboration are not enough to get the full

benefit of Big Data. You need a new set of Big Data applications. These

applications must be custom because there is no established model to

follow.

Agile is the new development methodology required to build custom Big

Data applications in a rapid, inexpensive way. In agile development, the

requirements evolve and the team builds the final solution in an iterative

way, delivering a final product that better meets customer needs in muchless time.

Big Data is the opportunity for IT to transition from driving business

efficiency and reducing costs to driving business agility and growing

revenue. Organizations that quickly embrace Big Data to transform their

business will distance themselves from the competition.

TRUST TRANSFORMS CLOUD

At the same time that businesses are focusing on transforming their

digital strategies and the way IT will support them, the threat landscape is
