    EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database

EMBL (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/embl/ ) the nucleotide database from the EuropianBioinformatics institute (EBI). its Main sources for DNA and RNA sequences are directsubmissions from individual researchers, genome sequencing projects and patentapplications. The database is produced in an international collaboration with GenBank (USA)and the DNA Database of Japan (DDBJ). Each of the three groups collects a portion of thetotal sequence data reported worldwide, and all new and updated database entries areexchanged between the groups on a daily basis. The EMBL nucleotide sequence databaseforms part of the European Nucleotide Archive , an EBI project led by Guy Cochrane as partof the The Protein and Nucleotide Database Group (PANDA) under Ewan Birney .

The EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database can be accessed a variety of ways Like SRSsystem ,Batch Retrival, Simple sequence retrival, FTPserver etc.Data submission is allowed

by Webin - WWW Nucleotide Sequence Submissions Sequin , Third Party Annotation (TPA)Submission, BARCODE Submission.Data search by BLAST & FASTA.

EMBL Database contained 301,588,430,608 nucleotides in 199,575,971 entries (9 th june2011).
