As such, I’m unable to look at my screen all day, so I adjust my trading pattern to be almost 100% call spreads. This weekend I completed an analysis of how many spreads to have on and how long they should go in time. Attached in my results backtested for the last year.My conclusion is as follows:Trade 6-7 call spreads a week. Use 2.5% of portfolio on each trade, so max risk ever (over 2 weeks) is 35% of cash. Pick stocks that have a running trend of greater that 30 wins over a 52 week period Trades are all call spreads of $5 strike width with an entry price of $2.5, this is Bob’s risk one to make one Buy on Friday, near close for 10 days outThis year I included and analysis for a 30K portfolio using the parameters above with the following stocks.AAPL, AMZN, CMG, GOOGL, NVDA, SHOP, TSLAAs always, I will adjust as needed throughout the year, especially if there is a trend change. Questions always welcomed, comments and challenges to theory appreciated. PDF

Sometimes, if I’m not wanting to carry much over the weekend, I buy the following Monday. I’ve run the trades buying on Friday or following Monday and the results are almost identical.
