ELS Static dissipative laminate (ESD)

ELS static dissipative laminates are used as a working surfaces in electrostatic Sensitive Areas, i.e.in the manufacture and assembly of static-sensitive electronic Components . These laminates offer the end user a static dissipative work surface with the Performance of a high pressure laminate and properties required .

Examples of the different utilization possibilities of GENTAS SDL are : furniture – decorative table covers , work station , shelves , cabinets , stands and supports for sensitive machines ,

mainly computer - based . partitions (one or both sides decorative) . material for packaging production , i.e. P.C.B. holder and desk-racks . panels for instrument production .

ESD is produced in regular and thick laminates grade . The laminates comply with all international standards for both static dissipative and high Pressure decorative laminates .

General fabrication tips Work surfaces must be grounded for proper static dissipation .It is recommended to bond ELS ESD to medium or high density fiberboard or particle Board suitable for static dissipative use . It is recommended to use static disapative adhesives . Proper conditioning of the laminates , substrates and the backing sheet should be done For at least 48 hours before assembly to minimize possible warping or twisting .

Relevant standards Standards for HPL : ISO 4586 , NEMA LD-3 , IS 507 , EN 438 . The laminates complies with the requirements of all the above standards . The properties for static dissipative products are in accordance with the DIN EN 61340 –5-1/2 (august 2001) and the recommendation of DOD MIL HDBK 236A of february 22 1991 ( test methods ASTM-D257 and ASTM-F150 ) .

Rs= surface resistance : 1x104Ω ≤ Rs ≤ 1x109Ω ; (RH = 15% +60%) . Rg= resistance to ground : 7.5x105Ω ≤ Rg ≤ 1x109Ω ; (RH = 15% +60%) . Charge decay : only mandatory where Rs or Rg > 1010Ω . Test equipment : metriso® 1000D (digital multymeter) . Electrodes : surface resistance probe model 850 . Test voltage : 100v .

DESIGN : Color : the laminates are manufactured in 2 solid colors – 3150 , 3132 .

Other colors are available upon request . Finish : BUTE texture .

Other finishes are available upon request . Sizes : To be determind iuntill 15/9/09 Thicknesses : regular SDL 0.9 – 12 mm .
