ELM 2015
For emerging executives to accelerate company and career growth.
Where will your local growth come from over the next decade and who will
drive it?
What unique skills, experiences and mindsets will enhance your emerging
executives’ contribution?
How can multinationals create and sustain talent waves of world class
global leaders?
Sustained company growth for many multinationals is becoming increasingly difficult due
to a range of global megatrends such as demographic shifts and digital disruption
combined with challenging local dynamics such as Australia’s perceived high cost base and
market saturation. Great leadership is paramount to promote success in these times and
this need will only further as the business world becomes increasingly volatile, uncertain,
complex and ambiguous. If that is the case … we have a problem!
According to McKinsey traditional approaches to leadership development are failing with
only 7% of senior managers polled recently thinking their companies develop
multinational leaders effectively. The number one reason for this is ‘overlooking context’,
i.e. adopting a one-size-fits-all approach to leadership ignoring the fact that leadership is
highly domain specific.
CEO Forum Group launched ELM in 2013 to address the domain specific leadership
development needs of emerging executives in the local operations of global companies i.e.
direct reports to the country executive team (level 3 leaders). In larger organisations level
4 leaders would also benefit. Close to 400 emerging executives from around 140
organisations have subsequently participated.
ELM is sharply focused on the unique attributes of successful multinational executives
either locally or overseas. ELM provides all participants with access to the knowledge and
experience of a range of global thought leaders across the year. ELM participants will also
have the opportunity to build their knowledge and networks with other emerging
executives across multiple industries and functions.
We look forward to meeting your emerging executives at ELM 2015.
