INTRODUCTION
By definition, an Antenna is a device used to transform an RF signal, traveling on conductor, into an electromagnetic wave in free space.
Antennas are broadly classified in four categories namely yagi-uda, dipole, slotted and micro strip patch antenna.
Each type of antenna has its own range of different antennas.
PROPOSED UWB ANTENNA
KEY FEATURES:-
It is a band-rejected printed elliptical antenna with a notch cut and a U-like slot fed by a simple micro strip line.
It is designed for Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless communications with a stop-band notch in the 5-GHz HIPERLAN and WLAN bands.
To obtain sufficient matching bandwidth, a partial ground plane and notch cut are used.
To obtain the band-rejected characteristic of 5.2/5.8 GHz, the U-like slot is embedded beneath the notch cut in the elliptical patch.

MEASURED ANTENNA GAIN IN VS. FREQUENCY
MEASURED RADIATION PATTERNS OF THE ANTENNA:
MEASURED SIGNAL OF IMPULSE RESPONSE OF ANTENNA
(a) Input signal and received waveforms
(b) Waveform of the received signal.
ADVANTAGES:-
Broad bandwidth and small size. Wide impedance bandwidth and Omni
directional radiation pattern. Low power consumption. High speed transmission. Simple hardware configuration.
