This is a short story about

two sisters,

their sister-in-law,

and a best friend.

Carly wanted to change the way little kids explore the world. She started designing lesson plans, writing books and composing songs.

She needed help so she asked Dionne.

Dionne suggested their best friend join the party.

Sarah was keen so they started playing…

…and now we have The Polkadots.

After a few songs had been sung, a lesson or two taught, and some free concerts performed something was still missing.

Dez was the perfect fit. She loved to dance, sing and play. The fact she was also their sister-in-law was a nice

bonus… and it makes this story better.

The Polkadots wanted to EDUTAIN kids and their parents.

(“EDUTAIN” means to educate and entertaining at the same time)

They followed the mantra of “for mums by mums”… for a while. Mr. Bop was introduced in the Body Bop lessons to help teach the importance of staying active. Everyone loved Mr. Bop so much he is now part of every show.

The mantra is now: “Learn to love learning together”

Mr. Bop is married to Dez

He is also Carly and Dionne’s little brother And they

are best friends with Sarah

The Polkadots and Mr. Bop have been very busy over the last 547.5 days (give or take a day) edutaining New Zealand. Here is a quick recap:

• 6,000 students visited in (free) school health program• 55 original songs composed (and sung… a lot)

• Created the Safe Kids advertising campaign• A bunch of music videos• Five educational modules (six lessons in each)

• Like, 20 full-on concerts• National television and event appearances• Charity events and free concerts

Even though this is just a short narrative, the story that is The Polkadots is just beginning.

For Carly, Dionne, Sarah,

Dez and Mr. Bop there are a bunch

of children around the world

who need to be EDUTAINED.

And that’s the end of the short story…
