ellements magazine - april issue
DESCRIPTION
The Beauty IssueTRANSCRIPT
Beauty is something we crave and love to have. This month The Ellements family has decided to dedi-cate this issue to Beauty, and the art of Beauty and Makeup. Most times in fashion credit is given to the Photographer and the Model; the Makeup Artists often feel left out. Makeup Artists, this issue puts you in the spotlight.
It was an awesome journey this month; it was exciting going through the submissions that our awe-some contributors sent in. I must say this will be a memorable issue and one to keep. As always, special thanks to all those who contributed to this issue; you make it what it is. Its always humbling to see the work of awesome photographers in one publication; color, age and taste has no boundry when it comes to art.
Enjoy what we have put together for you, and I hope it will give you inspiration and satisfaction.
Enjoy,

MODEL FEATURE
Photography by ORIN FLEURIMONT Stylist ANA ESCALANTEMakeup by GENEVIE JACOMINO Creative Director CHRIS ROYSTER
It is often said that a model should have a good personality. According to you, what are the traits required for a good personal-ity? There are many things that can make a good personality, but when pertaining to models and their environment I think it makes the shoot/event easier when the model is approachable, friendly, humble. Kind of has that “make it work by any means” at-titude. Open minded (to an extent). When the talent is a pleasure to work with, the shoot is a lot more fun for all parties involved.
Attire complements people’s personality. Tell us how attire should differ depending upon the place you are visiting? I think it is possible to still be YOU and have your unique style in every setting while still adhering to the settings theme/tone. Over or under dressing can affect ones confidence as well as others impression of them so it’s best to dress the part.
Who is one of your favorite photographers, MUA and stylist to work with for a shoot? I HAVE to brag on the team I had for my Ellements magazine shoot ! What an AMAZ-ING group of people! Photographer Orin Fleurimont, Styling by Ana Escalante, Hair/Makeup by Genevie Jacomino and Creative Director Chris Royster. There is sooo much
that goes into a great shoot. From the planning, the location scouting, the vision for the models look, the extra eyes on set to make sure a tag isn’t hanging out or a foot is turned the correct way, the extra hands to help hold things and sooo much more. Eve-ryone plays a vital role in the production and this group of people really came together and made it happen. Team work makes the dream work!
What personality traits do you think you have that should make you a good model? I have a great attitude and personality. I’m humble, I’m supportive to other models, I recognize my worth, I respect myself. Im a very goofy person. Friendly, considerate, polite, hardworking, loyal, and honest. I tend to be sarcastic, but its all in good humor. I’m also open minded and versatile.
What are your goals as a model? I plan to continue transitioning into the commercial market. I would like to book a big campaign this year!
How would you define your city’s fashion? Miami is a wild place. Almost anything goes here. We actually see many different types of fashion since most people who come here are visiting from other places in the world.
Living on south beach I notice the boutiques are in LOVE with rhinestones. Everything is studded out.
What are some of your accomplishments as a model? Just recently had feature on Tv show “South Beach tow”, Featured on Mys-tikal ft Birdman/Lil Wayne “Original” video, Full Throttle Mag, JET Magazine Beauty of the week, Gulf & Main Magazine, Dimepiece Magazine, Telemundo “Descontrol”, Kodak/Pitbull “Bragging Rights” commercial. Scoop the Magazine correspondent, Freelance host, I consider myself a veteran in promo-tional modeling. I’ve represented compa-nies such as Ciroc, Budweiser, Fever. I’ve promoted artists, parties, concerts.
Where can readers find you next? Hope-fully on Tv ;) Stay tuned !
What advice do you have for aspiring models? Keep your clothes on ! You don’t have to take half naked pics to be successful. Be very careful about what you post on the internet, because it is there forever. Networking is key. Get out and get known. Make it a point to introduce yourself to people. Build a tough skin and learn how to take constructive criticism. You won’t book every job, so you can’t let it discourage you. Make the MOST out of every single opportunity.

A professional photog-rapher and makeup artist who also styles hair and wardrobe to create the image as seen in her mind before it has been captured in camera. I own my own freelance photography and makeup business in Brantford Ontario and mainly serve cli-ents looking for lifestyle portraits, but when I get a chance to do something for myself, I can be found dabbling into my makeup kit to create something more unusual than your aver-age bridal look. I don’t own a big fancy studio, or use exceptionally expensive equipment, but rather work within my means and try to create from what I already have.
