Through diligent gathering of names and addresses, 53 people met for a covered dish luncheon and the sharing of the "good ole days". With hugs, laughter, tears and tall tales... the reunion was a blessing for all. Many sent regrets that, "this time I cannot make it, but please let me know if there ever is another one!" Texas Trail Riders off to San Antonio The Texas Trail Riders Associa- tion will begin their 44th annual 125- mile journey from Altair to San Anto- nio on Jan. 31, leading them to the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. There will be no parade this year due to complications. A 1998 membership and badge, along with negative Coggins test, will be required to participate in the trail- ride. Directors will be available at the sign up camp to approve correct pa- perwork. Young ladies interested in the 1999 Queen's Contest are most wel- come to join the ride and interview at the contest, Jan. 31. For Queen Con- test information, contact Jeanette Pruett, 210-672-2526. With unrelenting hard work, the devoted directors have organized an accommodating trail and campsites for the trail ride members. Join us for a relaxing week and a step back in time. Edwards, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Isisah Edwards, recently re- ceived three trophies from the Pre- Teen Texas Scholarship and Recogni- tion Program. Ella participated in the Program during the Thanksgiving holidays, Nov. 28-30, at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Houston. Participation in this pro- gram was by invitation only for girls seven to 12 years old. There were 66 girls chosen from 175 contestants; 35 of the 66 per- formed a talent of their choice; and 31 girls chose to do speech. , Ella was in the top six finalist in her competition for talent and, out of the top six, she won a trophy for sec- ond runner up. Krista is a 1991 graduate of El Campo High School and a 1997 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is a fifth grade teacher for the Lockhart Independent School District. Clayton is a 1987 graduate of San Marcos High School. He is employed as a Manufacturing Manager for Mega-Tech Inc. in Austin. A May 2,1998, wedding is planned at the First Baptist Church in El Campo.
