3M/Dwan Museum – Two Harbors In 1902, five businessmen embarked on a mining venture and laid the foundation for a successful global corporation in this building . It has been restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places .

Lake County Historical Museum – Two Harbors The Depot Museum, located in the 1907 headquarters of the Duluth & Iron Range Railroad, highlights the early pioneering history of the county including exhibits on the McDongal archeological digs, the first shipment of iron ore from Minnesota and the vast logging companies from the turn-of-the-century .

North Shore Commercial Fishing Museum – Tofte Displays relate to commercial fishing, Lake Superior and the story of the lives of the people who settled in the area . A guided tour conducted by a U .S . Forest Service Naturalist will be presented at the museum at 10 a .m . every Wednesday morning June 21 through August 23 .

Grand Portage National Monument – Grand Marais Partially reconstructed North West Company Fur Trade headquarters . Exhibits include: American Indian artifacts, fur trade artifacts, historic heirloom variety gardens, cooking and baking demonstrations, historical musket demonstrations, and ferry ser-vice to Isle Royale National Park from the site from mid-June through Labor Day .

Split Rock Lighthouse State Park Shipwrecks from a mighty 1905 November gale prompted the construction of a light-house on this spectacular rocky Lake Superior bluff . As you explore the visitor center and light station grounds, you’ll learn about the building of the light station and the life of a light keeper in this remote setting .
