Elgin Math and Science Academy Hiring an IT Coordinator The Elgin Math and Science Academy Charter School (EMSA, www.elginmathandscience.org) opens August, 2018 to all students residing in the U-46 attendance area in kindergarten through third grade for our inaugural year. EMSA is seeking a compelling, committed, and innovative IT Coordinator that will us help to establish a positive learning environment for students that promotes Wow and Wonder while modeling and encouraging the habits of scholarship and self-discipline. At EMSA we believe that students and teachers will reach their highest potential through active exploratory learning and social responsibility. The IT Coordinator plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations and long-term IT strategy of the Elgin Math and Science Academy. The ideal candidate is someone who: • Finds smart uses for technology that drive our efficiency, quality and results • Can help make strategically sound decisions on the how, when, and where to invest in IT • Collaborates with team members, and understands and values their perspectives for the best outcome for our school and students • Enjoys and understands the challenges of a startup organization • Has professional IT experience, preferably in an academic setting • Has strong verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences • Is comfortable managing against a budget • Can troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a school environment • Will assist in maintaining the school’s website and social media REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Network • Support End User Devices o Windows and Apple operating systems o ChromeBook/Android operating systems o General maintenance for various printers and copiers • Management of computer lab and classroom computer environments • Vendor management including ISPs • Basic networking experience including o Firewall administration o VLAN management o Wireless • G-Suite for K-12 Institutions configuration, administration, and maintenance • Virtualization configuration, administration, and maintenance o Hyper-V or VMware preferred • Windows Server configuration, administration, and maintenance
