In Healdsburg, farmers markets mingle with gourmet restaurants, and the surrounding hills produce some of California’s fi nest wines. Th is Sonoma
County hamlet is also home to textile designer Sandra Jordon (sandrajordan.com), who creates her Prima Alpaca fabrics inside converted barns on her property. “Healdsburg is big-city chic mixed with small-town
approachability,” says Jordan of the low-key lifestyle. Th e designer frequently travels to Peru to develop her sustainably sourced collections (she will launch a
new line of textiles made from dreadlocked Suri alpaca at this winter’s Paris Déco Off ), but she is always glad to return to her everyday routine. “I love coming home,” says Jordan. Here, she shares a few of her favorite local destinations.
