The Grand Critique Presentation was held on October 20

at the Woodbury University Campus in the Ahmanson Main Space, School of Architecture Building. Dean of the SoA Norman Millar, Assistant Dean Ingalill Wahlroos-

Ritter, Marc Neveu PhD, Chair of the Architecture Department were also present during the festivities. The scholarship awards were presented to the three fifth year Grand Critique and the Portfolio Winners from the Grad and Undergrad Award students. Short presentations by each of the three Grand Critique winners were followed by a question and answer forum from the student and faculty audience. This year the AIA/SFV awarded six —$500.00 scholarships and an additional two—$400.00 scholarships reserved for Grad Students finishing their Woodbury University Architectural studies. Members of the American Institute of Architecture, San Fernando Valley Chapter (which extends from Mulholland Hwy. to the North Los Angeles County Line and the Antelope Valley), have a mission to serve our profession and our community. To further our mission, the AIA/SFV has committed to recognize and encourage architectural students in our community and at Woodbury University. We view the education process integrating both the value of design and problem solving and the encouragement of students and young professionals, to be an integral part of that mission. We believe that architectural students will, as the future stewards of our built environments, be called on by society to take leadership roles as visionaries for sustainable design providing environments accommodating social and cultural forces throughout the United States and as leaders in the world. The AIA San Fernando Valley Chapter has established an independent Endowment Fund expressly to fund these named scholarships which were awarded consisting of $1,000 scholarships. We are accepting additional contributions from individuals, companies, design corporations and other sources to further the growth of the endowment program.
