ELERMORE
ENDEAVOUR
Term 3 Week 6 30 August 2019
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a great start to our day we had this morning with
our annual DUGS day. It was wonderful to see so
many people in our school and able to spend time
playing in the playground and in the classroom.
We definitely have had a busy week with many
events this week. Our Stage 2 students enjoyed a 3
day camp at Great Aussie Bush Camp, pushing
themselves out of their comfort zones with new
activities. Kindergarten and Year 1 enjoyed their
excursion to watch Possum Magic in Newcastle.
Recently we have also had 4 lucky students in Stage
3 attend a STEM camp with Mr Player. Once again,
we have been impressed by the behaviour and
respect displayed by our students while representing
our school.
Next week you are invited to join us for our Book Week
parade. The parade will start at midday, with students
encouraged to dress as a book character or with the
theme of ‘Reading is my superpower’. Feel free to join
in the fun!
Remember the P&C comedy night is this Saturday –
tickets are still available for what sounds like a good
night. Hope to see you there!

Library Lessons In recent library lessons, students have completed some simple art based on one of the books that have
been short-listed for the Children’s Book Council Award (CBCA). Over 480 books were submitted for this
prestigious award.
Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed
listening to Rainbow Bear by
Stephen Michael King. They then
chose and decorated their own
rainbow bear. Two students work
from each class was selected for
display in the library.
Year 5 and 6 students completed a presentation on a famous Australian. One of the requirements was an
interesting statistic about the person presented using a variety of PowerPoint tools. Here is a snapshot of
some of them.
