Page 2: Electronic Stewardship Plan

Website We have plenty of opportunity to add more detailed information & interactive tools.

– Student & donor engagement tools• Webpage designated for scholarships

– Donor Profiles– Student Profiles– Page that highlights priority scholarships

• We also need to have profiles from donors that contribute to other areas (planned giving, etc) Stories similar to the Bill Isaac story.

• Faculty Profiles might also be a nice addition. To showcase how professorships are helping to improve the College.– Videos & Slideshows

• Videos from students that say thank you for a certain scholarship or giving for a program.– Student thank you video– Scholarship update video (a profile on a scholarship recipient where he/she would talk about how the scholarship

has helped them, some of the things that he or she has been able to accomplish with the scholarship assistance.)• Post videos from various events

– Hooding– Symposiums– Programs that donor funds support– Campaign Finale video– Any videos that alumni & donors may have interest in.

• Live video tour of the law school – Could even be during a normal school day that showcases gifts in action (how students are using the moot court

room or smart classrooms)• We can also do online slideshows that profile students or slideshow student thank how funds are supporting students or

other areas of the College..– Instead of a video thank you, we could do a slideshow that showcases

– Other additions• College publications (all rise, campaign update, etc) should be updated on the website as well.• A link should be on the page that says learn more about becoming a Page Society or any other OSU society member.• If we create any special books (ex. Where in the World are Moritz Scholars, etc) we can add it to the scholarship page.

Social Media

Facebook & You Tube Development PagesFacebookOur Facebook page should have three main goals:

– Photo & Video Engagement• Personalized Development & Alumni Relations Page with a link page to the “official Moritz” web page. • If we decide to use videos and slideshows for the website and Facebook, we should house all of them on You Tube and create a development you tube page.• We can post videos (or a slideshow) and photos of the scholarship luncheon, reunions, OSBA reception, alumni events, etc. We can even add the scholarship

video and the campaign finale video.– People can also hit the share function and share the fan page with friends on or on their profile.– On the development fundraising page we can also create “cause” applications where we can do Facebook fundraising for certain scholarships, or fund drives. We could

have definitely raised money for the Shipman and Bodiker funds on Facebook.

– Donation & Gift Options• We need to utilize the fundraising/cause applications on Facebook for • Donors can make gifts online and we can personalize the page so that after the donor makes a gift online, they can use the share feature to promote to everyone

else whether it’s other friends or to their profile announcing that they made a gift.• They can also post comments to the “cause” wall sharing their thoughts and feelings regarding the gift they just made.

– News, Events & Recent Headlines– This page will include all development related information. We can transfer information from the web page to the Facebook page as well.– We can promote development event information on the page. There is a column that has all of the law school events on it.– RSS feed on website that updates website information to Facebook. – Profile Badge or designated page on website that promotes the Facebook page. (This could work for Alan’s fan page as well).– Send emails to Alumni and donors announcing presence on Facebook.

You Tube– We can create a development You Tube page that can house all of the videos that are posted on the web and Facebook.

• It’s easier to load the information on the Facebook page if it’s already posted on You Tube. Alumni & Donors who have accounts on You Tube can become subscribers of the Development page.

• You Tube is also very cool because the “subscribers” can post videos to their profiles or send videos to their friends on Facebook. They can also post comments to the page.

• We can add a You Tube profile badge on the Moritz website to let everyone know that we have a page on you Tube.• You Tube is a good way to keep alumni and donors engaged with the College no matter how far away they are.

Page 6: Electronic Stewardship Plan

Social Media

• This is what the Development page could possibly model after.• Donor & Alums can become “fans” of the page.• We can link other fan pages to the development page.

– We can also create separate fan pages for various areas of development and link to them to our favorite fan pages (reunion page, Barton Memorial cup. etc)

– Notice the RSS feed icon added to the fan page. This is where the information from the Moritz website can be added to the Facebook page.

• This is where the recent news and information is posted.

• We can create different types of news and information:

– Scholarship Information– Up to date event information– Any kind of special development and alumni

relations information.– We can upload photos from events.– We can create a You Tube Box where we can add videos

from the You Tube page to the Facebook page.

• The Cause applications are great for fundraising. We can create these applications for any fund we want. I think this could particularly useful for class scholarships and specialty fund drives.

– It’s easy to spread the word about the funds on facebook.– Fans have the opportunity to voice on the wall of the cause

page.– If a gift is made the share option can be used to send a

message to others to let them know that they donated to the cause.

– Credit Card payments are accepted through the cause application on Facebook.

– If donation is made to a scholarship, a recipient on Facebook can create a mini story that can be shared on Facebook.

– The wall on the Facebook page is a great way to let donors and alumni discuss why he fund they donated to is important to them.

• The events calendar is a very important aspect of the fan page. It creates awareness about the event and gives people an opportunity to RSVP on Facebook is possible.

The cause applications also have great tools such as the donor marches, where a supporter/donor can decide to match gifts for a cause. You can also see all of the people who are fans of the cause. There is even a cause hall of fame where it lists the people who have contributed the most to a particular fund.

Email/Electronic Communication

• Holiday email thank you cards – or a holiday thank you video from students or mini thank you presentation.• Online card for National Philanthropy day.• Email Stewardship reports in addition to mailing them. We could also possibly change the layout of the stewardship report to contain more

graphics.• For scholarship anniversaries “5th year of the Leadership or Person Scholarship” we can create a special email thank you from the

students. • Send event invitations via email and via evite or other event source.
