PG Series Pressure Transmitter with Gauge and Numeric Displays

The PG Series transmitter offersthe benefits of a highly visiblegauge with the functionality ofa pressure sensor.

The transmitter’s pushbuttonsestablish application parameters,NO and NC functions, and set-point and resetpoint.

Additional functions includeadjustable damping and an electronic lock function that pre-vents unauthorized changes.

When power is off, the gaugepointer disappears behind thenumeric display.

The PG Series pressuretransmitter is mounted in-line to provide quick, highlyvisible indication of sanitaryprocess conditions found in the food processing, dairy,beverage, and waste waterindustries. The flush mount,stainless steel design offershigh precision (0.2%) indica-tion of pressure values.

Ceramic cell sensing technologyeliminates the need for diaphragms

The sensor’s ceramic measuring cell ismade of high purity aluminum oxide(AI2O3). The ceramic cell element resem-bles a plate capacitor with a referenceelectrode and measuring electrodeplaced 10 µm apart.

The capacitance is inversely proportionalto the distance between the electrodes.If the distance changes by a small valuebecause of an increase in pressureapplied to the cell, the capacitancechanges proportionately. The signal isthen evaluated by a microprocessor.

The sensor can be placed in direct con-tact with media, insuring reliable pres-sure detection in sanitary applications.

Temperature drift testFood and beverage processing applicationsexpose transmitters to a wide temperaturerange. PG pressure transmitters aredesigned to experience minimal signal driftover a wide temperature range.

Zero-leak design testThe IP69K standard test duplicates the plantfloor pressure cleaning conditions. Thetransmitter is exposed to a 1500 psi sprayof water at 176˚F for 30 seconds. The test isperformed at specified angles using a spraynozzle located 4” from the switch.
