1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This procedure defines the equipment and system numbering schemes that are to be used

in Electrical Utilities (EU) and describes the logic encoded within its make-up. Data

associated with the equipment which is identified by equipment numbers will be entered

into an integrated database system for the purpose of pertinent and timely information

retrieval as well as the elimination of redundant data recording and storage.

This procedure applies to equipment for which EU is the custodian and has operational

control and maintenance responsibilities. Included is all equipment falling within one of

the following categories

Capacitors

Electrical Distribution Panels

Lines

Meters

Poles

Substations

Substation Buildings

Switches

Switch Stations

Transformers

Vaults

Relays

2.0 DEFINITIONS

3.1 Responsibilities

1. The Design Authority is responsible for equipment and system number per

MSC-PRO-20052, Design Authority Program.

3.2 General Requirements

1. Equipment within the scope of this procedure will be assigned numbers according

to the description in the attachments listed below:
